Joyce Culley and "Mike" Will Be Featured at Annual Garden Fiesta

Little Miss Joyce Culley, of Coral Gables and her pet goose will be one of the feature attractions at the garden fiesta given by the Florida Association of Workers for the Blind in the garden patio of Mrs. Elliot Shepard's Miami Beach home, Tuesday from 2 to 6 o'clock. Dressed in a quaint goose girl costume Joyce will direct her net, Mike, in performing the many tricks she has taught him. Many prominent Coral Gables women will assist in making this benefit party a success. It will be the 11th annual garden party to be given by the Association. All proceeds will go towards the maintenance of the Lighthouse, and for continuance of the work with the sightless in this area. Mrs. Fderick Norris, executive director of the Lighthouse and general chairman for the garden fiesta is announcing the committees and workers: Mrs. C. B. Moak, in charge of specialities which will include a fortune teller, palmist, crystal gazer, handwriting analyst, artists and silhouette cutter. Mrs. Edgar F. Culley will head the cake committee with these assistants: Mrs. Norman Hendry, Mrs. Charles Miller, Mrs. A. Judson Hill, Mrs. E. F. P. Brigham, Mrs. W. T. Mixon, Mrs. Roy B. Wolf, Mrs. J. H. Brooks, and Mrs. D. J. Heffernan. Mrs. Harry Simpson is arranging the flower display assisted by Mrs. Beryl Chapman, Mrs. Pat Cesarano, Mrs. MacGregor Smith and Mrs. George Swanson. Mrs. Henry O. Shaw with Mrs. Carl Lambert as co-chairman is directing the sale of tickets aided by the following: Mrs. Keith Phillips, Miss Elizabeth Kreitler, Mrs. Ione Franz, Mrs. Isidore Cohen, Mrs. Robert Way, Mrs. George Corrigan, Mrs. R. M. Norcross, Mrs. E. L. Maugan, Miss Mary Leidy, Mrs. William P. Richardson, Mrs. Robert Reimert, Mrs. Vassal Wooley, Mrs. Abe Rosen, Mrs. H. O. Jones, and Mrs. Sydney Weintraub. Miss Bertha Foster will present the University of Miami string orchestra which will play throughout the tea hours. Mrs. George Baya will be in charge of the tea table; Mrs. Robert Reimert, the candy; Mrs. Louis Streuber, the fashion show with clothes and models furnished by Milgrim's Lincoln Road shop. Mrs. Thomas E. Grady is planning an entertaining program and Mrs. Isidore Cohen will be in charge of memberships.

WILL MEET MONDAY

The Coral Gables Garden Club will meet at 2:30 p. m. Monday at the home of Mrs. D. D. Sheffield, 311 Avenue Mendoza. Ross Beckstrom of the Soillade Company will be the guest speaker. Mrs. Fred Grinham will have charge of the plant material contest.

Mrs. Reinhold Honors Guests Of Friends

Mrs. Ernest Reinhold entertained at a prettily appointed Valentine bridge luncheon recently in the Red Room of the Country Club of Coral Gables. The party honored a group of out-of town visitors of friends of Mrs. Reinhold's. With Mrs. Derby Thomas was her guest Mrs. John Wood; Miss Ann Turner of Pittsburgh was with Mrs. Benjamin Turner her sister-in-law; with Mrs. Robert Crowe was her sister, Miss Mary Seller of Dallas and Miss Marie Louise Smith was honored as the guest of her sister-in-law Mrs. Louis Hax Smith. In addition others present were, Mrs. John Halifax, Mrs. John M. Montgomery, Mrs. Coulton Skinner, Mrs. Roy Brown, Miss Betty Wynn, Mrs. Lawson A. Cheatham and Mrs. Stuart Patton.

WILL HAVE FOOD SALE

The Lions Auxiliary of Coral Gables will have a home-made food sale tomorrow at the Warth Paint Company, 1911 Ponce de Leon Boulevard. Proceeds will be used for the benefit of the Crippled Children's Hospital Fund. Mrs. Frederick Glass is chairman and Mrs. Sidney G. Cassell, co-chairman, have charge of the event.

House Party

Mr. and Mrs. George B. Meyer of 1137 Alhambra Circle who arrived early in January to open their Alhambra Circle home from Parkridge, New Jersey where they operate the Meyer's General Hospital have as their guests their daughter, Miss Madia Meyer, in training at St. Joseph's Hospital in Patterson and Miss Aneda Pirot, in training at the Meyer's General hospital. The young ladies arrived Tuesday to spend ten days. Mrs. Meyer's son William Hillas, Mrs. Marjorie Murchard and Mrs. Louise Apegar of New York are also guests. Arriving this week were Mrs. Emma Keene of New York, Mrs. Mary Haig of Jersey City and Mrs. William Simonds, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Cade and two sons, Robert and Richard of New York

Pen Women Meet Today At Biltmore

The fourth breakfast of the Miami branch, National League of American Pen Women will be held at 12:30 p. m. today at the Miami Biltmore Hotel. Mrs. J. Ira Gore, president will preside. Dr. Barbara Ring, program chairman and chairman of radio programs will present Mrs. Arthur Curtis, chairman of the day. Mrs. Curtis a writer and frequent visitor to South American countries will present speakers of note who will talk about our "Latin American neighbors". Mrs. Lewis P. Clephane will have charge of decorations. Receiving guests at the door will be Mrs. Clifton Doll Benson, social courtesy chairman, assisted by Mrs. H.
