When the famous and dashing Lily Pons bows to the many guests Sunday afternoon at the reception in her honor at the home of President Charles H. Crandon of Civic Music and Mrs. Crandon, she will be amid familiar surroundings. Last year the diva just happened to be in town (for her annual months' vacation at Miami Beach) when a like reception was given for Iturbi, Civic Music's outstanding last year's midwinter attraction and quite 'stole the show' at the Iturbi reception. This year Frank LaFarge, noted pianist and her accompanist may be here for the party. Her husband and famed orchestra leader will be here for Tuesday's concert. Mr. and Mrs. O. O. Bottorff of New York will be honored guests at the tea. Mr. Bottorff is vice president and general manager of the National Board of Civic Music. Presiding at the coffee urns will be Mrs. Bowman F. Ashe and Miss Bertha Foster. Miss Catherine Walsh and Mrs. Charles Cushman will be at the punch bowls. Assisting will be Mrs. Hollis Bush, Mrs. Eda Kerry Liddle, Mrs. Hannah Asher, Mrs. Sam Murray, Mrs. G. A. Price and Mrs. S. Earl Smith. Mrs. George White and Mrs. T. T. Stevens will greet guests at the door.
Another outstanding party scheduled for Sunday from five to seven is the tea, Lt. Comdr. and Mrs. Lewis Clephane will give at their home 2301 Columbus Boulevard. Mrs. J. O. Almand of Washington, D. C., mother of Mrs. Clephane will be honor guest. Mrs. James F. Ireland, Mrs. Kenneth Keyes, Mrs. George Corrigan and Mrs. Alpheus Clephane will greet guests at the door. Alternating in groups of four at the punch bowls will be, Mrs. Henry Clay Anderson, Mrs. A. W. Barrett, Mrs. Kenneth Burritt, Mrs. J. Harry Collins, Mrs. Herbert Craft, Mrs. W. Scott Deming, Mrs. Jack Evanson, Mrs. A. E. Gifford, Mrs. S. Earle Giffen, Mrs. M. B. Garris, Mrs. R. W. Harrison, Mrs. William Huntley, Mrs. R. G. Lindsay, Mrs. K.
