By HELEN REYNOLDS Plans for her marriage to William P. (Bill) Tomasello will fill the two short weeks Miss Sarah Duke Bryant is home, following her graduation Monday at Florida State College for Women, and the 13th of June, date the wedding will take place. The thrill of being an honor graduate—she's one of the top 17 of her class, you know—will not outshine that day of days when the pretty daughter of the Frank C. Bryants, prominent residents of Coral Gables, travels to Quantico, Va., to wed Lieutenant Tomasello of the U. S. Marines. Sarah Duke (called "Duchess" by her classmates) majored in speech and dramatics at Tally, and for her senior recital gave a entire three-act play assuming all characters, describing each scene, situation, etc. The marriage of Sarah Duke and Lieutenant Tomasello will culminate a college romance. He is the son of the senior Tomasello's of Bartow, and was graduated from the University of Florida, where he also received his law degree and his commission as a reserve officer. * * * Mountain air and fires are being enjoyed by Frank O. Headley, who is the guest of his son, George K. Headley, in Birmingham, Ala. The son, with his wife, accompanied his son home Friday, after his visit here with Mr. and Mrs. Headley... Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Witters, formerly of 824 Avenue Anastasia, have moved to Deland, where Mr. Witters' construction company is engaged in building a $5,000,000 air base for the Government. The Witters, who will be gone about a year, will be missed hereabouts, Mrs. Witters being a member of the chorus of the Coral Gables Music Club as well as one of the choir of Trinity Methodist Church. Mr. Witters is a member of the Lions International and also is on the staff of the executive committee of the Boy Scouts of America. * * * Mrs. J. H. Brock entertained at a dessert-bridge Wednesday at her home, 2420 San Domingo, for eight guests. The party honored Mrs. Joe Dance, who was also complimented with a handkerchief shower. Mr. and Mrs. Dance are moving to Daytona Beach, where Mr. Dance, with the Southern Bell Telephone Company, has been transferred. * * * Making professional as well as home talent recordings proved entertaining diversion at the garden party and buffet supper Miss Catherine Louise De Long, Miss Betty De Long and their mother, Mrs. Lillian Patton De Long, gave Monday night at the De Long home, 3510 Granada Boulevard. Ben Perry, master of ceremonies of the Riptide Club, Miami Beach, and Mrs. Perry were among guests; also Miss Genevieve Keogan of South Bend, Ind., house guest of the Louis K. Manleys. Resourceful Mr. Perry made a recording, using as his accompaniment the rhythm produced by the tapping of the guests' feet. The clear, beautiful soprano voice of Mrs. William Davies, singing "The Rosary," was recorded, as well as playing the records made in Mrs. De Long's home by the celebrated Fifi D'Orsay, French singer, during her engagement last winter at the Riptide. * * * Mrs. George R. C. Williams entertained the May meeting of the International Relations Group of the Woman's Club Friday at her new beach home in Surfside. Marie Antanova spoke on "Russia." Mrs. Stewart Thomas will have the June meeting at "mangoe" time... Mrs. R. L. Ricketts gave an informal tea Tuesday afternoon for Mrs. Allen H. Hudson, Louisville, Ky., who is the house guest of Dr. and Mrs. Roy T. Bovard. * * * Colonel and Mrs. John D. Carmody, well-known in army circles, have leased, through the Carlotta Lewis realtors the residence at 622 Menendez Avenue for a year. Colonel Carmody is retired and lived in Washington. * * * With her teacher's certificate safely tucked in her brief case, Miss Elizabeth Giersch will return to Coral Gables following her graduation Monday from Florida State College for Women at Tallahassee. Miss Giersch and Miss Bryant are the only Coral Gables students in this year's class. Elizabeth, who majored in English, was art editor of the "Flambeau," did political cartoons for the Tallahassee paper occasionally. Pursued as an avocation, she hopes to develop this talent commercially. Mr. and Mrs. Giersch and daughter, Helen, will leave today for Tallahassee to attend the festivities and see their daughter graduate Monday. * * * Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Warner of 524 Avenue Aragon are leaving next week-end for Washington, D. C., to attend the graduation, June 2, of their daughter, Miss Polly-Ann Warner, from National Park College, Forest Glen, Md. Miss Warner, an honor student, was graduated in 1940 from Ponce de Leon High School. In addition to her college work, Miss Warner did dress designing, illustrating, and hopes to continue this interesting work in New York next fall. With her family she will spend the summer in Milford, Conn.
