(Continued from Page Five) season a field utility for the provincials. A startling backfield of Jackie Pierce, Gerry Sparks, Eunice Halifax and Mildred Campbell will open up the game with the key play, aptly named the Christmas Eve. Then Mary Belle and Ike Macy will be shaken loose on a tennis reverse, and toying with the opposition in the center of activity, Billie Harting, Virginia Woodward, Gene Ellison and Dot Arpold will carry to the green pastures. Anne Randolph, the Galloping Glamour from Virginia, will add the bonus point easily with equestrienne style form from that should persuade all the gals to take to the saddle. From there on the parade promises to be a skating waltz and easy sailing for the provincials, because there are more than a half dozen triple-threaters to show their varsity potentialities. Four all-American candidates who will dazzle scouts with their broken-field dashes, June "Flash" Edwards, adept camera handler, Louis Williams, a new-look artist, ace flanker Wynelle Cassell, and the paring "Milton Dollar Baby" Phillis Kapp, get into the act next - and having awed the scrubs, give way to a' concerted egg nogg drive. Many Scoring Combinations From there on in, folks, the show should really get spectacular, with the "Rainy Night in Rio" specialists getting their cue, the stylists getting off to the races, and bowling over the conservative followers of the game with the latest things in comfort and pleasure. "With an attack-minded team," Clocker Margaret Cann beamed as some of the stars who double in other brands of scrimmage came back for the last two drives. "Why, I would even say they're greater than the Halloween Costume teams that have made us famous, locally." Pennock well satisfied with the polished performance of the entire Provisional squad came up with the observation that the Country Clubbers have been "building" for this classic for a long time and intend to make the most of it. "In the past, our squads have always pleased the fashion experts, and this year we're good enough to give the thrill-seeking, easily excited fan the show he's been looking for." With every one of the stars a camouflaged Eve, there isn't much that can be missed.

Eight Stephens College Students Arrive Friday for Xmas Holidays

Packing-and partying-today occupied the attention of eight Coral Gables girls who are students at Stephens College at Columbia, Missouri. The packing was in anticipation of Christmas vacations to be spent in the Gables with their folks, and the partying was in keeping with the traditional pre-holiday festivities on the Missouri campus. Before embarking Southward on the "Stephens Special" Thursday, students will have attended a series of formal Yuletide balls, climaxed by a special Christmas dinner and concert tomorrow. Then homeward bound will be Miss Joyce H. Houser, daughter of Mrs. Maude Houser of 1245 Avenue Mariana; Miss Peggy Jane Randol, daughter of the William L. Randols of 1808 Ferdinand; and Miss Jane M. Smith, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel R. Smith, 2601 Columbus Boulevard. Other Stephens girls who will be home for Christmas are Miss Diane Stouder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Stouder of 1032 Castile Street; Miss Betty Anne Wright, who will spend the vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wright, 1541 Avenue Placentia; Miss Vivian Ina Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Hoffman, 655 University Drive. Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Cribben of 836 Avenue Palermo will be waiting at the station for their two favorite Stephens students, their daughters, Elizabeth Jane and Carolyn.

Plane Trip Bores Blase Ellyn Ann

Ellyn Ann Hickey will venture forth on her 20th flight this December 31st on the very day she becomes three months old. Interviewed on the prospective trip-and the possibility she may see a white New Year's at the Pennsylvania home of her grandma and grandpa, Ellyn Ann said "Yawp. Glug." "That means I'm starving. Pass the bottle!" interpreted Mrs. Francis Hickey, Ellyn Ann's mother and Frog Hollow correspondent for the Riviera-Times. She and her daughter will enjoy three weeks in the North before embarking once again for the return trip to the Hollow.

Nine-Match Jai Alai Program Fronton Tonight

(Continued from Page 6) There is little doubt a capacity house will sit in on the opening night festivities. As in former years the daily double will come on the third and fourth games with quinelas on all games except the third. Under the new plan of nine matches there will be six singles and three doubles. Already interest has been generated concerning the prospects of the individual figures during the 1947-48 meet. Bari, a new-comer from the Basque country, and Cermeno, a Mexican import who played here three years ago, loom as the favorites to stage a duel. Prior to coming to the Biscayne pelota palace, Bari heaped glory upon himself while heading the fine crop of players in Brussels, Belgium, last year. At the close of the season in Brussels he was named the outstanding competitor of the meet.

Sports Parade

(Continued from Page 6) die Popkop of Georgia Tech and Bob Sweiger of Minnesota were having leg trouble, attended. With Johnson, the big former Illinois tackle, played with the weights on the scale. "I've lost 50 pounds this season," he said to nobody in particular. "I'm down to 238 pounds." Somebody asked Young what he would do, now that football was over. "Keep in shape," grunted Buddy, who fumbled twice during the game, "and learn to hold on to a football." Over in the dressing quarters of the winning Browns there was little excitement. Only a few players, mostly from squad, wore nice clean suits, marked the occasion. The Browns have mostly young players but already this is old stuff. They won the first championship last year and now had repeated. Coach Paul Brown climbed onto a trunk and shouted: "Congratulations. And listen. He gave personal memento, keep your jackets." "It was tough, a real narrow squeak," Brown told sportswriters as sweat dripped from his face. "Conditions were bad, that field made it like ice skating, and we couldn't run very well. Our passing got us by; it did the trick." Asked who he thought was the standout of the game, the youthful-looking Brown replied: "Gee Whiz, Motley was superb. And Young can really go with that football. He just squirts through there." Excited at winning? "Gosh no! Who say, what was the final score?" As you can see, the Browns were blase. But Brown, the coach, was having himself a time.

Nieder of 32 Avenue Calabria told police today. Nieder said the woman had a strong Scottish burr in her words as she made the touch. She gave her name as O'Keefe, Nieder added.
