Rabbi Officiates At Daughter's Nuptials
With the beautiful music of the Jewish blessing sung by the Temple Judea choir, the former Shirah Rannah Skop, daughter of Rabbi and Mrs. Morris A. Skop, 3511 Riviera Dr., became the bride of Lewis M. Heilberg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Heilberg of Miami Beach and Cologne, Germany, at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 25, at the Temple. Three Rabbis assisted Rabbi Skop at the ceremony. They were Rabbi Leon Kronish of Temple Beth Sholem, Miami Beach; Rabbi B. Leon Hurwitz of Temple Zamora, Coral Gables, and Rabbi Morton Malavsky of the Israelite Center in Miami. Temple Choir Cantor Herman K. Gottlieb of Temple Judea directed the Temple choir with Mrs. Milton Cohen the soloist and William H. Rohm at the organ. The wedding reception followed in the Temple patio. For her wedding the bride wore a floor length gown of imported silk mist taffeta. The molded bodice was designed with open neckline outlined in Chantilly lace and lace appliques with long point-on-hand sleeves. The bouffant skirt, etched with lace, was gathered into a pouff at the back and swept into a regal train. Her voluminous veil of imported silk illusion fell from a jeweled crown. She carried white orchids and Valley lilies. Five Attendants The bride's five attendants wore identical gowns made alike of Romance blue silk organza with fitted bodice, scoop neckline and short sleeves. Their bouffant skirts fell in three tiers from a wedding ring waistline. They wore matching French hats and carried sprays of iris. They were Judy Ronci, maid of honor, and bridesmaids, Myra Dolinger, Sharon Klineman, Lottie Engel and Dena Skop, sister of the bride. Ray Skop, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Robert Brooks, Mike Botwin, Sal Ronci and Eli Skop, brother of the bride. After a wedding trip to Nassau, the couple will reside in South Miami. Both the bride and groom are teachers in the Dade County School System.
Shopping Takes Toll Golfers
Christmas shopping was evidently more popular than golf Friday, when only 27 members of the Country Club of Coral Gables Woman's Golf Association turned out for the morning rounds. It was guest day, too, and six guests appeared. Low gross played in classes was the tournament. Mrs. Albert Bachman won first in Class A with a 45; Mrs. Al Mathers was second with a 47. In class B, Mrs. Stanley Burke and Mrs. William McKone tied with a 46 to win. Mrs. J. C. Finerty and Mrs. Alva Marsh tied with a 48 in second place. In class C, Mrs. W. Cavanaugh had a 49 to come in first and Mrs. Robert Grant, 53, was second. Guests Miss Patricia Duhaime had a 44, and Mrs. Gerald Hoelth a 49.
Alan L. Sockloff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Sockloff, 411 Malaga Ave., was recently elected vice president of the sophomore class at Emory University, Atlanta.
