Newlyweds Will Live In The Gables

Spending their honeymoon at Miami Beach are Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Burton, whose marriage took place Saturday in the Chapel of The First Christian Church of Coral Gables. The bride, the former Nellie Lou Cox, is the daughter of Mrs. Alberta A. Cox, 532 Majorca Ave. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Rush, 528 Navarre. The bride wore a deep lavender wool sheath dress with matching hat and accessories for the 3 p.m. ceremony. She was attended by her sister, Maureen, who wore a tan wool suit with matching accessories. Both the bride and her attendant wore orchids. Only members of the two families were present for the wedding. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and is now employed by the Coral Gables Title Co. The bridegroom is a graduate of Coral Gables High School and is manager of the Men's Department of Belk's Department Store. The couple will reside at 5321⁄2 Majorca Ave.

Bogey Tourney Brings Out 42

Members of the Women's Golf Association of the Country Club of Coral Gables turned out 42 strong Friday. The tournament was blind Bogey. Seven members scored 41. They were Mrs. Stanley Burke, Mrs. Alfred Mathers, Mrs. Albert Bachmann, Mrs. A. M. Dohre, Mrs. John Beaumont, Mrs. Rolla Budde and Mrs. Ed Lawson. Bogey in golf is a score for each hole of the course estimated as that of skilful but not necessarily perfect play. The score is assumed to be that of an imaginary player, Colonel Bogey.

Coral Gables Pilot Club Greets Officer

First Lt. Gov. Edith Mawhinney of Hollywood was the speaker and guest of honor Wednesday when the Pilot Club of Coral Gables honored the new officer on her yearly official visit. The dinner meeting took place at 7 p.m. at the Country Club of Coral Gables. Miss Mahinney came to Florida in 1952 from Cleveland. She has been a member of Pilot for seven years. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association, Panhellenic Association and the Florida and National Association of Mutual Insurance Agents. The Pilot Club of Coral Gables is a service club of business and professional executive women whose clubs are international in scope.
