Khoury League Registration Begins Saturday

By ANN BLUMENTHAL CA 1-1377 Grown ups have their socials and parties, but the youngsters have their fun too. The Tropical Park Khoury League is having registration days on Saturday, Jan. 21, and Saturday, Jan. 28, from 10 am Tropical Park Khoury Field at Tropical Park Khoury Field at SW 82 Ave. and Bird Rd. at the concession stand. All boys who have reached the age of 7 by Jan. 1 and up are qualified to join. Boys must be accompanied by a parent and proof of age is also needed. Fees for insurance is $5 a boy. Each additional boy in the family is $3. Commissioner of the Tropical Park League is Murray Rosenberg. Southwest Jewish Center Men's Club is having a barn and square dance on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 8:30 p.m. It will be held at the Center, 6438 SW 8 St. Lester Linn, a professional caller, will be on hand. Prizes will be given for the most authentic barn yard apparel — overalls, dungarees, straw hats, etc. Teenagers are invited to attend. Admission is 50 cents. Refreshments will be available. Chairman is Eugene Dondes, Publicity chairman is David Fegarsky. For information, call CA 1-5874. Southwest Jewish Center Men's Club is having a breakfast on Sunday, Jan. 22, at 9:30 a.m. at the Center. Guest speaker will be Chuck Zink of WTVJ, who will talk on juvenile delinquency. He has just won an award for the year on this subject. The admission is 50 cents for lox, bagels and all the trimmings. Flagler Granada Jewish Sisterhood will present a play, "Religion in Holiday Fashions" by Mrs. Daniel Lapin, on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 8:30 p.m., at the Flagler Granada Auditorium, 50 NW 51 Pl. The public is invited. Mrs. Sam Kowalski is president; Mrs. Irving Verdon, publicity chairman; Mrs. Leo Drutz, refreshments chairman, and Mrs. Abe Saluk, 501 SW 65 Ave., program chairman. Southwest Optimist Men's Club is sponsoring a bowling league for boys 9 to 12 years old at Bird Bowl. For information, call Mr. Toomey, boys' work committee chairman, at CA 1-9632. South Miami Heights Civic Association is having its third annual Valentine's dance on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Cutler Ridge Regional Hall. Music will be furnished by the "Broxtons Count Downs." Southwest ORT Chapter is having a cake sale on Saturday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m. at Kwik Chek Market, 87 Ave. and Bird Rd. Proceeds will go to Epic, Tel Aviv and Scholarship. West Miami B'nai B'rith Chapter is having a card party on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Hy Potash, 4911 SW 87 Ct. Surprise gourmet delights will be served. Tamato, 6001 SW 63 Ct., are celebrating their son David's 13th birthday on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Monte Carlo Hotel at 7:30 p.m. Seventy-five guests will attend the party in his honor. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Sandweiss, 6326 SW 12 St., celebrated their 25th anniversary. Their son, Mitchell, came in from Boston to help celebrate.
