Minicks Will Move To Home In Texas
Air Force Lt. and Mrs. William Charles Minick are residing in Lubbock, Texas, following their evening wedding Thursday, Dec. 29, in the Shenandoah Baptist Church. The bride, the former Martha Lilolwyne Gustafson, is the niece of Mrs. Milton N. Gans of 1768 SW 11th Ter., with whom she resided. The groom is the son of Mrs. Alice Minick of 529 Cadagua Ave., Coral Gables, and Robert G. Minick of Key Biscayne. Bride's Gown Given in marriage by her grandfather, J. L. Papy of Ft. Lauderdale, the bride wore a floor length gown of white satin peau de soie made along princess lines with fitted bodice, low neckline and long point-at-hand sleeves. Reembroidered Alencon lace etched the neckline and sleeves, and medalions of the lace trimmed the bouffant skirt. A bustle featured the back interest of the skirt which swept into an aisle wide train. Her many tiered silk illusion veil fell from a crown of pearls and sequins. She carried white orchids and roses. The five attendants of the bride wore identical gowns of red taffeta made with bouffant skirts. Matching accessories and bouquets of white and red carnations completed their ensembles. They were Mrs. Joseph C. Combs, matron of honor, and bridesmaids, Donna Pagella, Bonnie Zimmerman and Gloria McKenna. Janie Minick was flower girl. Best Man The groom was atended by his father as best man. Ushers were Albert Harum Jr., Harold White and Robert Bayley, all high school friend of the groom. Following the 7:30 p.m. ceremony, the reception took place in the Coral Gables Woman's Club. The bride's aunt wore beige chiffon with matching accessories and a gardenia corsage. Mother of the groom was in blue silk shantung with match-corsage. Wedding Guests Among out-of-town guests at the wedding were the bride's uncle, Dr. Joseph M. Branch, and Mrs. Branch of Georgia. The bride was graduated from Miami Senior High School and attended the University of Miami, where she pledged Delta Zeta social sorority. The groom ing accessories and gardenia was graduated from Coral Gables High School and the University of Miami, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity. A prenuptial party was the dinner given by groomsman Albert E. Harum Jr., and Mrs. Harum for about 25 close friends of the groom at the surburban home of the senior Albert E. Harums. MRS. WILLIAM C. Miss Junia Sells Is Hostess
Miss Junia Sells, 1410 Alberca Ave., had some interesting out-of-town guests at her annual New Year's Day open house party. They included the Rev. Merrill Dunlap of Oak Park, Ill., and Jimmie Johnson of Fuquay Springs, N. C. Mr. Dunlap, a pianist, organist and publisher of gospel music, played the piano for group singing. Dr. Ralph Harris, organist, played the organ, and Edward Clarke was master of ceremonies. Dr. Harris and Mr. Clarke are both of the faculty of the University of Miami's School of Music. Miss Sells also invited the choir of the First Presbyterian Church of Coral Gables, of which she is organist, so the "rafters rang" with music. Linda and Cathie Clayton were caroling cherubs, and their father, along with Wilfred Smith and Stuart Wilson, were vocalists. Miss Sells and Reverend Dunlap were for many years on the same radio staff in Chicago.
