Vasha Nowakowski Is Now Mrs. W. M. Rosenblum

Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Nowakowski, 6301 SW 27th St., announce the marriage of their daughter, Vasha, to William Martin Rosenblum, son of John Rosenblum, of 45 Antilla Ave., and the late Mrs. Rosenblum. The wedding took place Sat-day, June 10, in the Moye Chapel of the Coral Gables Congregational Church, with Dr. Fred C. Cole officiating at the 4 p.m. ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Beverly Reeves, of Fort Myers. Hans Von Baeyer was best man. After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple left for Waltham, Mass., where the bridegroom will work this summer in the theoretical physics department of Brandeis University. They will return in September and both will return to the University of Miami, Mrs. Rosenblum for her senior year, and Mr. Rosenblum to continue his research work in the physics department. SM Jaycees Pick Team Of Husband and Wife

James A. May Jr. is the recently elected president of the South Miami District, Junior Chamber of Commerce. Circuit Judge Lucien C. Proby Jr., was the installing officer. Fuller Warren, former governor of Florida, was the speaker. Other new officers are: Henry Prebianca, first vice president; Mark Rubin, second vice president; Thomas Knowles, third vice president. Wes Pelley, secretary; George Grant, treasurer. The board of directors is Dr. Richard Applebaum, Hodson Drew, Robert Himelrick, N. J. Stickeler, and Dr. Thomas Williams. Officers of the auxiliary are Mrs. James A. May Jr., president; Mrs. Henry Prebianca, vice president; Mrs. Robert Himelrick, secretary and Mrs. N. J. Stickeler, treasurer. Mrs. Edmund Clancy, Mrs. William Ussery Jr., and Mrs. Arnold Wall, make up the board of directors. This is the second year, the South Miami Jaycees have had a husband and wife team as top officers. Mr. and Mrs. William Ussery Jr., are the outgoing presidents.

Friis, Berry To Conduct Tennis Clinic

Have you yearned to play tennis, but never got around to the fundamentals? A couple of young tennis players, Robert Berry, varsity player on the Florida State University team, and Don Friis, Gables High School senior and netman, will conduct a tennis clinic at the Epiphany School, 8235 Red Rd., between July 10 and Aug. 25. Berry, who lives at 1535 Cantoria Ave., and Friis, of 6175 SW 50th St., will take turns in telling the rudiments of holding and using a racquet. Classes will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday, twice daily from 9-11 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. A fee of $4.50 per week will be charged, but equipment will be provided. Mrs. A. T. Ewell New Episcopal Women Head

Mrs. A. Travers Ewell, 8400 SW 53rd Ave., is the new president of the Episcopal Women of South Florida. She will serve a three-year term. Mrs. Ewell, a graduate of Chapin School, New York, attended Vassar for two years and graduated from Barnard College in 1931. She served, two terms as president of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Thomas Episcopal Church of South Miami. She also held important posts in the Miami Deanery, as well as in the United Churchwomen's organization. Locally, Mrs. Ewell was president of the Town Club; treasurer, Cub Scout Pack No. 24; on the board of the community chest; served as finance chairman of the Symphony Club Instrument fund, and "Reader for the Blind" Miami chapter 1960-61. In the business field, Mrs. Ewell served as secretary-treasurer of the Adobe Brick Co., Inc., of South Miami, from 1937 to 1956.

Nassau Trip For You

St. Theresa's Senior Catholic Youth Organization is sponsoring a Labor Day trip to Nassau on the S.S. Florida. The ship leaves Miami at 5 p.m. Friday Sept. 1, and returns at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5. Arthur Sayres Celebrate 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Sayre of 6243 S.W. 57th St., South Miami, former residents of Pittsburgh, Pa., were honored on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary last Thursday evening at the All States Friendship Club in Coral Gables. Special guests were the Sayres' daughter, Mrs. Naomi Stecke of Philadelphia, and Mr. Sayres' aunt Mrs. Cora Ainsworth, who lives with them.
