The Same Old BAG of TRICKS!

Some people have naturally tricky minds. This is particularly true of professional politicians. Tricky politicians are the worst tricksters of all. But they never learn. They always use the same old Bag of Tricks. One of the oldest, most disreputable tricks in their Bag is to lay down a last-minute barrage of wild statements, unfounded claims, and vicious accusations to confuse the voters and try to distract their minds from the real issues. This scandal-loaded barrage is always timed so as to give those at whom it is aimed no chance to reply or refute the false assertions made. But these tricky politicians forget that voters nowadays do not like such tactics and resent having these shop-worn last-minute tricks pulled. Intelligent voters know that behind the smokescreen is a tricky politician who is using his candidates merely as a shield behind which he hopes to accomplish his own selfish ends—which ends invariably are opposed to the best interests of the taxpayers. This Association has no alliance, or affiliation whatever with professional politicians. We don't like their methods. We don't like their aims. Our efforts are entirely on the side of the Taxpayers of Coral Gables who fully realize what has been accomplished in the past two years for clean, honest business-like management of our City affairs. We are confident that last-minute mud-slinging ballyhoo will not influence those voters who don't want tricky politicians, through their catspaws, to work their way back into City Hall.
