Randolph will be remembered by sports fans as the 1928 Georgia Tech All-American who chased Roy Rigel in his famous backwards run in the Rose Bowl classic that year. Following his graduation, Randolph coached Furman for several years before taking his present position with the Hudepohl Company. During his Coral Gables visit, he called on many or the Hudepohl beer dealers in the community.

Barrett Blair Wins Portable

Just in time for Christmas and after many weeks of working after his school hours, Barrett Blair attained his 25 new subscribers for The Riviera and earned a beautiful new Royal Portable typewriter this week. Barrett is in the 11-A grade at Ponce de Leon High school, has one more year to go before he enters what he hopes will be his life work, the study of law. To be an attorney has always been upper most in Barrett's mind, for several cousins, and an uncle, who was a judge are all lawyers, so Barrett feels it's in the blood. Barrett, the son of Mrs. Berna Blair, 502 Maderia Avenue, is a sturdy young man, almost six feet in height. A great great grandfather, who was a coin collector in his day left some 200 early American and old English coins to his descendants. Of this collection Barrett received about 50 as his share. He now adds to his collection and counts coin collecting as one of his hobbies. As was announced some time ago, the offer of earning a portable typewriter, "The Riviera Way" would end at Christmas. That time has arrived and all workers with unfinished ticket books are requested to return them to The Riviera.

Symphony to Present Four Miami Beach Concerts

Four concerts under the auspices of the University of Miami and its Symphony Orchestra, conducted by John Bitter, will be given in Miami Beach, at the Miami Beach Senior High school, on the following dates; January 26 February 16, March 9 and March 23. Gaby and Robert Casadesus, Marietta Bitter, The Roth String Quartet and Igor Gorin, will appear at these concerts. A two-piano recital given by Gaby and Robert Casadesus will take place on January 26th. Not in vain is music connected with love. Witness such brilliant marriages as the Schumans, or the Johann Sebastian Bachs. And a shining example of our own times is that of Gaby and Robert Casadesus. Casadesus was born in Paris of a family for generations has been famous in the musical field. There was Francis Casadesus, composer, conductor and founder and director of the Society of Ancient Instruments; the distinguished Marcel-Louis-Lucien who was killed in the World War; and many others, including Robert's aunt Rose Casadesus, with whom the child began his musical studies. Brilliant From Start As he began his concert career, which was brilliant from the start, another prize pupil was just enrolling at the Paris conservatory. Gaby L'Hote was born in Marseilles. Her mother, an excellent pianist, taught former, until she was eleven years at Algiers. Her uncle is a well-known conductor and her sister is a harpist. Gaby first studied under her mother in Algiers, then went to Paris. Here she won the Harriet patted reserved for women, the Prix Pages. They met for the first time at the Conservatory when Casadesus, full of early trimuphs of his career, came into the class room, with a new composition tucked under his arms, a piece of work which he has eagerly brought for his teacher's criticism, and possible approval and praise. In the classroom his eye came to rest on a petite and extremely attractive brunett. Simultaneously he admired her looks and her talent. Professor Diemar introduced them and under his paternal eye they sat down at two pianos and played together for the first time the composition which Robert had brought. Friendship to Marriage. So began a musical friendship which ended in marriage and a wonderful concert team. Marietta Bitter, who is today recognized as the leading harpist on the Pacific coast, will play on February 16. She has studied under Henriette Renie, Mildred Dilling and Carlos Salzedo. She is a member of the original Salzedo ensemble, a former harpist with the Radio City and the New York Symphony Orchestras. She is also the wife of Walter Abel, well-known screen and stage star. The Roth String Quartette, one of the leading groups of that kind in the country, will be presented in the third of the Beach series, on March 9. The Roth String Quartet is not only a leading group but one of the most popular heard. Return Demanded A great demand for a return engagement of Igor Gorin, baritone, was made after Mr. Gorin's outstanding success with the University of Miami Symphony Orchestra, last year. Gorin, a composer as well as performer, has had two of his compositions, "Lament" and "Caucasian Song," published by Shirmer, within the last year. Despite heavy singing commitments Gorin has been able to prepare two additional songs, which are to be released shortly. One of the most popular singers of classical music, Igor Gorin has a featured performer on the radio program, "Hollywood Hotel", for the past two years. The Burlington Press has sah, of Gorin: Here is not only a magnificent voice, but a personality vital and persuasive, giving through poetry and music, messages of life and love." Subscription seats as well as single tickets for this series of Beach Concerts may be obtained at the University of Miami, room 125, and at the Miami Beach Senior High school as well as at Cordelia's Book and Card Shop in Miami.

FIRST BREEDING FARM OPENED AT DANIA

The first chimpanzee and gorilla breeding farm in history has been established at Dania, it was disclosed this week. Armand Denis and Leila Roosevelt Denish, his wife, both noted explorers, scientists and 10-film picture experts, have purchased the Thunderbird Trading Post, on U. S. highway No. 1, at Dania, and an adjoining tract of 10 acres which has been quietly fitted out as a chimpanzee farm and stocked with 100 rare monkeys and anthropoid apes of 30 different species. The farm is open to the public. The Denis' have made several trips through Africa, India and the Orient, their last expedition, being to the Belgian Congo at the instance of King Leopold III to film native and wild life in the bush. It was here that they conceived the idea of their unique breeding farm. A feature length version of this Congo expedition, titled "Dark Rapture", was filmed here this summer under the title of "Dark Rapture". Denis also directed the making of "Goona-Goona", in Bali, and "Wild Cargo", in Ceylon.
