Carols For Community Sing Tuesday

(1) O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem; Come and behold Him, born the King of angels; O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord. Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, born this happy morning, O Jesus, to Thee, be all glory giv'n; Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing; O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ, the Lord. (2) O LITTLE TOWN OF BETHLEHEM O little town of Bethlehem, How still we see thee lie; Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by; Yet in thy dark street shineth, The everlasting light; The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight. O holy Child of Bethlehem, Descend to us, we pray; Cast out our sin and enter in, Be born in us today. We hear the Christmas angels, The great tidings tell; O come to us, abide with us, Our Lord, Em-man-u-el. (3) IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth To touch their harps of gold; Peace on the earth, good will to men, From heaven's all gracious King, The world in solemn stillness lay, To hear the angels sing. Still thro' the cloven skies they come, With peace-ful wings un-furled, And still their heav'n-ly music floats, O'er all the weary world; Above its sad and lowly plains, They bend on hov'ring wing, And ever o'er its Babel sounds, The blessed angels sing. (4) THE FIRST NOEL The first Noel the angel did say, Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter's night that was so deep. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Isreal. They look-ed up and saw a star, Shining in the east beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, And so it continued both day and night. Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Isreal. (5) SILENT NIGHT Si-lent night, Ho-ly night, All is calm, all is bright, 'Round yon virgin, mother and child, Holy infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Si-lent night, Ho-ly night, Shepherds quake at the sight, Glories stream from Heaven afar, Heavenly hosts sing Al-le-lu-ia, Christ the Saviour is born, Christ the Saviour is born. (6) JOY TO THE WORLD Joy to the world, the Lord is come, Let earth receive her King, Let ev-'ry heart prepare Him room, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n and nature sing, And heav'n, and heav'n and nature sing. He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the na-tions prove, The glo-ries of His right-eous-ness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, and wonders of His love. (7) JINGLE BELLS Dashing thro' the snow In a one horse open sleigh, O'er the fields we go, Laughing all the way; Bells on bobtail ring, Making spirits bright, What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonight! CHORUS Jingle, bells! Jingle, bells! Jingle all the way! Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh! (8) JUANITA Soft o'er the fountain, Ling'ring falls the Southern moon; Far o'er the mountain, Breaks the day too soon! In thy dark eyes' splendor Where the warm light loves to dwell, Weary looks yet tender Speak their fond farewell! Nita! Juanita! Ask thy soul if we should part. Nita! Juanita! Lean thou on my heart. (9) HARK, THE HERALD ANGELS SING Hark, the Herald angels sing, Glo-ry to the new-born King, Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners, reconciled. Joy-ful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With th' angelic host proclaim, Christ is born in Beth-le-hem; Hark, the Herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King. Hail, the heav'n-born Prince of Peace, Hail, the Son of Right-eous-ness, Light and life to all He brings, Ris'n with healing in his wings, Let us then with angels sing, Glory to the new-born King, Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners rec-on-ciled, Hark, the Herald angels sing, Glory to the new-born King. (10) WE THREE KINGS OF ORIENT ARE We three kings of O-rient are, Bearing gifts we traverse afar, Field and fountain, moor and mountain, Following yonder star. Oh, star of wonder, star of might, Star with royal beauty bright, West-ward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to the perfect light. Born a babe on Beth-le-hem's plain, Gold we bring to crown him again, King for-ever, Ceasing nev-er, Over us all to reign, Oh, star of wonder, star of might, Star with royal beauty bright, West-ward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to the perfect light. (11) UP ON THE HOUSE-TOP Up on the house-top reindeer pause, Out jumps good old Santa Claus, Down thro' the chimney with lots of toys All for the little ones, Christmas joys. First comes the stocking of little Nell, Oh, dear Santa, fill it well, Give her a dollie that laughs and cries, One that will open and shut her eyes. CHORUS Ho, ho, ho, who wouldn't go; Ho, ho, ho, who wouldn't go; Up on the house-top, click, click, click, Down thro' the chimney with good Saint Nick.

Club Members Hear Florida Book Review

"The Sun At the Moon's Inn" by Andrew Lytle was beautifully reviewed by Mrs. J. L. Cunningham for members of the Coral Gables Woman's Club Monday afternoon. The book, of particular interest to all who love Florida, was brought by Mrs. Cunningham to her audience with such intensity of feeling, such depth of color and characterization that all who listened were entranced by the words of the speaker. At a short business meeting preceding the book review—which was given under the sponsorship of Mrs. Clarence Wadsworth Franeis, Literature Study Chairman, the club voted to give five dollars to the community fund for the purpose of preparing a Christmas party for American and British Cadets in training at the University of Miami. Mrs. Howard Weenick, Public Welfare Chairman, reported that the Red Cross Drive had gone over the top and Mrs. Louie Lanford, American Citizenship and Defense Chairman, reported progress on the club's defense work and asked for futher cooperation.
