Counterfeiters: Lern To Spel

Counterfeit money orders are beginning to show up in the Miami area in large quantities, according to Miami Postal Inspector E. M. Campbell. Campbell, of 35 SW 18th Rd., said that the counterfeiters have done a poor job of copying the United States postal money order forms. The paper used is slightly different, and the counterfeit forms contain several misspelled words. For instance—the word 'transferred' becomes 'transferre', and the word 'considered' is misspelled 'considreed.' One man has already been picked up by the authorities in connection with the passing of fake money orders, Campbell said. The hearing for Arturo Casale was held Oct. 5, and his bond set at $2500 for appearance before the grand jury in New Orleans.

John A. Tripp Joins Mackle

The Mackle Company-General Development Corporation has announced the appointment of John A. Tripp, of 6440 SW 16th Ter., West Miami, to its Architectural Department. Tripp, a native of St. Louis, Mo., headed his own firm for seven years before accepting his present position. He will work with chief architect, James E. Vensel, A.I.A., and associate Herbert Rosser Savage, A.I.A., in the supervision and coordination of such areas as design, production, research, and field supervision. Tripp, who came to Florida in 1935, was associated with the Mackle Company in Key West in 1942-43. He attended the University of Miami. The Tripps have two children.
