Schulemsons Married In New York
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Alexander of 6120 SW 63rd Ct., South Miami are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Myra, to Seymour Schulemson, which took place Saturday Sept. 3 in New York City. The ceremony took place at 10:30 p.m. in Temple Beth Israel with Rabbi Joseph Levinson officiating at the single ring ceremony. The bride's sister Gail was maid of honor and only attendant. Joel Kleinman was best man for the groom and the eight ushers were friends and relations of the couple. Given in marriage by her father he bride wore a floor-length bridal gown of white Chantilly lace over taffeta made along princess lines. The fitted bodice had a Sabrina neckline and long point-on-hand sleeves. The bouffant featured a bustle back and Chapel length train. The bride carried her white Bible given to her when she was confirmed at Temple Judea, Coal Gables, covered with white orchids. Her finger-tip-length illusion veil fell from a coronet of sequins and pearls. The maid of honor wore a Teal blue chiffon and matching velvet gown made with matching jacket of the velvet. She wore a teal blue tiara of pearls and carried a bouquet of yellow roses. The reception followed the ceremony. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Alexander wore a pale pink chiffon with a pearl trimmed cummerbund and matching accessories and a pink orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother wore a powder blue lace with matching accessories and a pink orchid corsage. Among the out of town guests were Dr. and Mrs. Gerald Alexander of Miami Beach; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Borden and family of South Miami; Mrs. Nathan Braverman and son, Howard; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bressman of Miami; Mr. and Mrs. A. Kaplan; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Bressman, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bressman all of Newark, N. J.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Friedman of Clevland, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sidran and family, of Seattle; Dr. and Mrs. Carl Alexander of Minneapolis, Minn. and Mr. and Mrs. Max Stein of Saratoga Springs, N. Y. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and is a sophomore at the University of Miami majoring in elementary education. She is a member of the Junior chapter B'nai B'rith. During her vacation in June, she visited her grandmother in New York and met her future husband to-be, the son of a friend of the family.
DAR To Be Guests At Sottile Residence
Mrs. James Sottile Jr., 2525 Indian Mound Trail will be hostess for a coffee to honor Founders Day of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The coffee, sponsored by the Coral Gables Chapter, will be held in Mrs. Sottile's home on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Honor guests for the coffee will be state regent, Mrs. George C. Estill; state and national parlimentarian, Mrs. Roberta Ann Leonardy; former vice president general Mrs. Harold Foor Machlan and regents of other South Florida chapters. Assisting Mrs. Sottile at the coffee will be Mrs. Robert L. Searle, Mrs. Walter H. Beckham, Mrs. Harry N. Moss, Mrs. George Okell, Mrs. James Ammen, Mrs. James Sottile Sr., and Mrs. George S. Walker. Mrs. Thomas S. Gowin, 6251 Coral Lake Dr., recently presided as regent of the first annual meeting of the Coral Gables chapter of the DAR held at the Musician's Club of America on Oct. 11. Her theme for the year is "For What Avail-If Freedom Fail."
