Panhellenic Adopts Two War Children

Soon Bong of Korea and Sotiria Siamantoura of Greece belong to different hemispheres, but they share an important relative, a foster parent. The foster parent for these girls is the Panhellenic Council [?] the University of Miami. The adoption is financial, not legal. The Council contributes monthly to the support of the girls. The two girls also share a similar background. Sotiria lives with her widowed mother and half-sister in a small Greek village. Her father was killed during the Rebel War in Greece which followed World War II. She is 14. Soon Bong is one of six fatherless children. She has graduated from secondary school at the top of her class. She is 17. Sotiria is also in school and intends to become a history teacher. Their "adoption" was made possible by the 13 national sororities which comprise the Panhellenic Council and the Foster Parent's Plan, Inc.

New Children's Store Features Layettes

"[?]pi's" is the name of a new infants' and children's store opening this week at 257 Miracle Mile. The store, finished in gold and white with lavendar carpeting, is divided into two departments, layettes and children's apparel. 20 Years Experience Owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Morris Grossman, the specialty store came about in an unusual manner. The Grossman's together have had 20 years in the children's apparel business, but when their daughter was expecting her first baby the prospective grandparents decided they wanted something special for the layette. To New York T search led them to New York where they found many fine and unusual layette items, many of them handmade and imported from Europe. The Grossmans felt that Miami and particularly Coral Gables needed a shop that specialized in these items and thus "Pepi's" was born. "Pepi", by the way, is French for happy. "[?]pi's" will open the week of Jan. 23 and both Mr. and Mrs. Grossman will be on hand with fine items for children from infancy to age 14. The new store will feature the Pan-Am charge plan.
