Michael Millers Will Reside In Nassau
Taking their wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, West Indies, with destination Nassau, where they will reside, are Mr. and Mrs. Michael John Miller, following their wedding Saturday at the Coral Gables Congregational Church. The bride, the former Barbara Jean Sinclair, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Sinclair of 1130 Aduana Ave., Coral Gables. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Miller of London, England. Bride's Gown Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white satin and Chantilly lace; the bodice detailed in the lace. Her many-tiered waist length tulle veil fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried white roses and white orchids. The bride was attended by Miss Susan Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mary Andrews of Coral Gables and Miss Judy France of South Miami. They wore identical gold sheath gowns with overskirt, headpieces to match and carried gold and bronze chrysanthemums. Murray Taylor of Los Angeles was best man. Ushering were John Woodman of Nassau and William Sinclair and Richard Sinclair, both of Coral Gables. Dr. Fred E. Cole, pastor, officiated at the 4 p.m. service. The reception followed at the Country Club of Coral Gables. The mother of the bride chose a beige brocade gown with avocado green bow at the waist and matching avocado green feather hat for her daughter's wedding. She wore a Vanda orchid corsage. The groom's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller of Opalocka, and Miss Ivy Pridden of Nassau were the only out-of-town guests at the wedding. The bride was graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended North Texas State and the University of Florida. The groom had all of his schooling in London.
News Of The PTA Ponce Junior High To Honor Teachers
By EUNICE TALL The date set for the annual Ponce Junior High School PTA luncheon honoring school teachers is Jan. 31. The luncheon will be in the school cafeteria at noon. Due to the semester break, no students will be in school. Members of the luncheon committee have designated that an Oriental theme will be followed throughout the meal. Decorations, invitations and food will follow the theme. Hostesses will be the PTA board representatives. Members of the luncheon committee are Mrs. Herbert Mills, program; Mrs. Harrison Faith, chairman in charge of decorations; and Mrs. R. C. Gardner. Also assisting are Mrs. W. T. Woodard and Mrs. H. H. Dunker. Mrs. John Lipscomb is president of the Ponce PTA this year.
Music Teachers Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the Miami Music Teachers Association will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 8:30 p.m., in the Dixie Room of the Musicians Club of America, 303 Minorca Ave.
Wedding Plans For Summer Are Announced
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Benson, 1302 Asturia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Anita Joan, to Wade Philip Young Jr., son of Dr. and Mrs. Wade P. Young, 714 Catalonia Ave. A late summer wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect is a senior at Coral Gables High School, a candidate for graduation in June. Her fiance is a graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in engineering. He was a member of Sigma Chi social fraternity. He is with Eastern Air Lines.
