Bonnie Anderson Will Be Bride On June 17

BONNIE ANDERSON Mr. and Mrs. Mervin F. Anderson, 6286 SW 10th Ter., announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie, to Mr. David T. LeDuc, son of Mr. and Mrs. George A. LeDuc, 210 NW 27 Ct. Miss Anderson is a senior at Southwest Miami High School and a candidate for graduation at Southwest Miami High School and a candidate for graduation in June. She is a member of National Honor Society, Co-operative Business Education, Future Business Leaders of America, and is a part-time secretary for Robert M. Brake, an attorney in Coral Gables. Mr. LeDuc is a draftsman and a part-time engineering student at the University of Miami. He was graduated from Miami Technical High School, where he majored in aviation and sheetmetal. They will be married on June 17 at St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Canadians Invited

The French-Canadian Club of Greater Miami invites all Canadians and winter visitors here for the season to attend their Friday night dances held at the Polish American Hall, 2250 NW 14th St. Hours for dancing are from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Mary McKenzie Will Be Bride

Doctor and Mrs. Jack Alexander McKenzie, 444 SW 30th Rd., are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Mary Frances, to Dr. Jacob Frederick Straight Jr., son of Mrs. Jacob Frederick Straight, 1451 NW 51st St., and the late Mr. Straight. A summer wedding is planned by the couple. North Carolina Graduate The bride-elect attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lynchburg, Va., and was graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Chi Omega social sorority and Beta Gamma Sigma, honorary business administration fraternity. She is a member of the Spinisters Club of Miami, the Guild of the Museum of Science and Natural History, Daughters of the American Revolution and the Riviera Country Club of Coral Gables. Dental School Her fiance is a graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Louisville's Dental School. He held memberships in Psi Omega dental fraternity and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, honorary dental fraternity. He is a member of the Bachelors Club of Miami, the Country Club of Coral Gables and the Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club.

Top Golfer Wins Painting

The Women's Golf Association of the Country Club of Coral Gables played a special event Friday, the Mrs. Harold Bennett tournament, and the play was low net with 32 players braving the cold. Mrs. Robert Grant won the oil painting (by Mrs. Bennett) as winner. Mrs. Henry Krystow was second, and a tie for third was the luck of Mrs. Alva V. Marsh and Mrs. J. B. MacMurray. Mrs. Grant had her choice of two of Bobbie Bennett's paintings, a landscape of New England or a scene of Vizcaya. She chose the landscape, since Mr. Grant is a native New Englander.

Civil Defense Course Offered

The Cutler Ridge Woman's Club is sponsoring a 12-hour Civil Defense survival course during February and March at the Cutler Ridge Community Center. The course is open to the public. Mrs. Harry Amidon, CE 5-3167, may be contacted on the details of the Feb. 11, 18 and 25 and March 4 meetings. There will be free baby sitting at the Center.

Wedding Plans Are Announced For Summer

Col. and Mrs. Leonard M. McNutt, 1106 Placetas Ave., are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Mary Lynn, to A. Gerald Torchia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Torchia, 5989 SW 80th St. A summer wedding is planned by the couple. The bride-elect was graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended the University of Florida for three years, where she pledged Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She is presently a secretary at the University of Miami. Spanish was her major at Florida. Her fiance was graduated from Coral Gables High School and the University of Florida where he majored in advertising design.

Hope School Ball Is February 5

Annual building fund ball of the Hope School for mentally retarded children will be held Feb. 5 at the La Ronde Room of the Fountainebleau Hotel, according to Mrs. Wally Nimer, 545 San Servando, publicity chairman for the school. Hope School is a non-profit, non-sectarian institution dedicated to the assistance and training of mentally retarded children in the Miami area. Tickets, Mrs. Nimer said, can be obtained by calling the school at FR 4-8129.
