Louise (Mrs. A. D.) Barnes, who has resided in Coral Gables for 35 years, is quite upset over the fact that the City Beautiful might become a city of skyscrapers instead of a residential city. Mrs. Barnes brought a clipping, a feature article from the Kansas City Star dated Nov. 6, 1960, to The Times, which was sent to her from a friend. The article contained a three column picture of Coral Gables City Hall, with a convertible (top down) containg three people in the foreground, and this caption, "That's City Hall, the disbelieving motorists are telling themselves as they drive past the ornate municipal offices of Coral Gables, Fla., a city that stays conscious of its architecture." Opening sentences or the article says, "No walls separate Coral Gables from bustling metropolitan Miami, which presses close about it. Yet the moment you cross its boundaries, you are conscious of entering a world which is subtly different from anything else you have seen." * * * * * Mrs. Charles S. All she had to do was write to New York, her hometown, for her absentee ballot (they are printed in October) and then on the November date proceed to the building next door to the Embassy building to cast her vote. Ruby says the Embassy building, like all buildings in Rome, is beautiful.
