Country Club Christian
"The Christian Church" is the message of the eleven o'clock morning worship service at the Country Club Christian Church, 1009 E. Ponce de Leon Blvd., worshipping in the Woman's Club, adjoining the public library, Coral Gables. "May I present the Christian Church?" asks the Rev. Harvey John Fritsch, pastor. "I have often been asked to explain just what the Christian Church is-its aims and purposes, so with your permission I would like to present 'The Christian Church'. It is obvious to even the casual observer that the divisions existing in the Church are of no credit to God and church or the Church itself. It is equally obvious that the Christ of one is the Christ of all. The conundrum is that if there is but one God and Saviour of all-why all the difficulty? I can best explain by defining Nationalism and Patriotism. Patriotism is a deep love of one's Country-Nationalism is the pitting of one's Country above all other countries. There are those who love their Church, these are Christian Patriots; and then there are those who place their particular Church above all others, this is Christian Nationalism. It is the high aim of the Christian Church to meet together in spirit and the bonds of peace in the practical acknowledgment of "one faith, one Lord, one baptism, one Hope, one body, one Spirit, one God and Father of all". We do not look for unity in opinion, nor in forms, ceremonies, or modes of worship, but as has been said, 'We may not be able to meet together in our pews, but we can meet together on our knees.'" Christian Endeavor meets at 6:45 p. m. All young people are invited to attend.
