By HELEN REYNOLDS, SOCIETY EDITOR Thrill of a lifetime was experienced by Miss Anita Pawley, daughter of Mrs. George Pawley, 4412 Avenue Santa Maria, when as the guest of her uncle, Ambassador William D. Pawley and Mrs. Pawley in Rio de Janeiro, she met Margaret Truman, the president's daughter. Anita returned to Miami Tuesday by plane with her uncle and aunt and has since been entertaining her family and friends with stories of the charm of the first lady of the land and her equally charming daughter. Of Margaret, Anita says she is pretty with lovely coloring, wears her clothes well, and is most gracious. Anita was included in most of the festivities accorded the president and his family during their stay in Rio. Incidentally Mrs. Pawley, Anita's mother, has just returned from a seven weeks northern motor trip with the Eugene Pawley's. They visited in Washington, D. C., and through the New England states, staying some time in Conway, N. H. They attended the opening of Saratoga and spent about four weeks at the Plains, Virginia. * * * Major and Mrs. Reginald Rookwood Hogan have been entertaining a round of summer time guests at their country estate Whitegate, Charlottesville, Va. the past few weeks, but still find time to enjoy the Riviera-Times each week as it comes. They write they will be down sometime after the first of December to re-open their Coral Gables home at 1700 Country Club Prado and will have as their guests after the first of the year General of Pearl Harbor fame and Mrs. Pickett, who have bought a nearby country home. Old friends of Major Hogan, the general and his lady were entertained recently by the Hogan's at the Farmington Country Club, and included among the guests were Admiral and Mrs. Halsey, who have also bought a nearby Virginia estate; Mr. and Mrs. John Hamilton, nee Patricia Paine, son-in-law and daughter of Mrs. Hogan's are frequently down from Washington, D. C., their home, for week ends. Major and Mrs. Hogan will probably drive South in their brand new station wagon—a DeLuxe Tudor job, Mrs. Hogan writes with the name of their country place Whitegate, done in white letters outlined in red on the panel of the door. They use it a lot for they are in the center of the station wagon country. * * * Looking fit as a fiddle, Miss Lulu Cadle returned Sunday to her home, 706 Coral Way after several weeks vacation in Orlando.
