GRANADA GOLF

—By Anne Randolph— Every golfer in the Miami area is looking forward to going to the Open and seeing the game played the right way. Some people like to pick their favorite Pro and follow him throughout the tournament and others like to follow one for nine holes and then change to someone else, there are still others that like to sit in one spot and watch them all. Everyone enjoys it any way they prefer to watch. There are always certain shots that you especially want to study and pick up some pointers on. I remember a man who rushed out to the golf course, the day after the Open last year. He was very excited and said he knew he would improve his game because he had studied the shots he was having trouble with and knew just how to play them. He came dragging in with 55-55-110. I believe he gave up the game. The Miami Women's Golf Association is conducting the sale of tickets again this year and they will be easily spotted on the course and in the parking area, by their green and white ribbons. The play continues to be heavy at Granada as more and more people return to their winter homes. Mr. L. E. Doty from Elyria, Ohio, the home of the Worthing-ton Sweet Shop, is playing the course for the sixth year and has now become a permanent resident. Kenneth McIntosh, originally of Collinsville, Ill., has been coming down for 12 years. Now at Tropical Park, he is racing official at New England tracks and Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs Arkansas. Many calls are coming in every day to the Pro shop at Granada, from people that want information about the Biltmore. What day the course will open—what the green fees will be—what bus to take to get there.
