TEMPLE BETH SHIRAH has chosen committee chairmen for seven of its departments. Left to right they are Ed Feldstein, membership; Louis Greene, men's club; Cantor Herman K. Gottlieb, music and choir; Mrs. Joseph Katz, adult activities; Rabbi Morris A. Skop, ritual and education; Stephen Kessler, constitution and by-laws; and Leon Roth, budget and finance.

Temple Beth Shirah Has First Sisterhood Coffee

Members and friends of the recently founded Temple Beth Shirah Sisterhood, headed temporarily by the Chairman, Mrs. Jack Somberg, held their first coffee and fellowship hour at the headquarters in Suniland Shopping Center Dixie Highway on Wednesday. Rabbi Morris A. Skop spoke to chairmen of the committees, outlining plans for the Hebrew and religious schools and the youth activities to begin with the High Holy Days Youth Service. Cantor Herman K. Gottlieb presented solo guests who have volunteered for the Temple Choir. Other temporary officers include Mrs. Henry Hamersmith, Mrs. Joseph Katz, Mrs. Milton Raynor, Mrs. Louis Green Mrs. Edward Feldstein, Mrs. Louis Sachs, Mrs. Harry Burak, Mrs. David Markinson and Mrs. Benjamin Schwartz. Temple Beth Sirah will hold its first Sabbath Service on Friday, Aug. 4, in the Suniland Hall. Rabbi Skop will speak on the theme, "The Blessings of Loyalty." Mr. and Mrs. Morris Newman will be hosts at the Oneg Shabbat honoring the newborn son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Kessler, hosts at the Kiddush following the services honoring their daughter Bonnie.
