At Emerson Elementary It's 1776 and Cocked Hats

Mrs. Tom Ruddy, president of the Olympia Heights Elementary School, Parent Teacher Association announces a skit "Let's Plan What to Do Now," as an opener for the first meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 12. The skit follows the Civil Defense, theme, "Take a Good Look at Family Preparedness." FLAGAMI The Parent Teacher Association of Flagami Elementary School, 920 SW 76th Ave., will hold its first meeting of the year at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the school cafetorium. Mrs. Charles Hitt, president will preside and the first step "Getting' Acquainted," of the PTA theme for the year "Seven Steps to a Better School," will be given. LUDLAM SCHOOL The Parent-Teacher Association at Ludlam Elementary School will meet tonight (Thursday) with special interest to parents whose children are in the third and fourth grades. Work done by the children in these grades will be on display in their classrooms. The meeting is at 8 p.m. It will close at 9:15 with a social hour. MERRICK PTA Mrs. Willard Brown, president Merrick Demonstration School PTA, says next Tuesday's meeting at 8:30 p.m. will be on Civil Defense. Mrs. Evelyn Mader of the Civil Defense Council of Dade County will talk on "Personal Survival in Time of Disaster." EVERGLADES PTA The first meeting of the Everglades Elementary School PTA will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the school cafetorium. Emerson School Emerson Elementary School PTA will hold a "Town Hall" meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria. Following the theme Town Hall of 1776, participants of the program will wear cocked hats with three corners. Mrs. Mable Wedermeyer arranged the program. CORAL TERRACE The Coral Terrace Elementary School PTA will hold its second meeting of the year on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Theme of the meeting will be "Americanism." The program will be divided into two parts a film titled "America the Beautiful" and a teacher's panel that will discuss "How Close Communism Is to Your Children."

Parents Will Meet Staff Of YMHA

The first "get acquainted" meeting of the Early Childhood Development Program of the Southwest YMHA will be held Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. at the home of the PTA Chairman, Mrs. Richard Alper, 3005 SW 79th Ave. This meeting will give parents an opportunity to meet the staff of the school, and to discuss the program which is being offered their children. All parents are invited.
