Christian Science

First Church of Christ, Scientist in Coral Gables is opposite City Hall Park. Morning Service 11 a.m. Evening service, 8 p.m. Sunday School, 11 a.m. Wednesday evening 8 o'clock. "God The Preserver of Man," is the subject of the lesson-sermon which will be read in Churches of Christ, Scientist, throughout the world on Sunday, June 15. The Golden Text is: "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped" (Psalms 28:7). Among the citations which comprise the lesson-sermon is the following from the Bible: "Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to usward: . . . Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy loving kindness and thy truth continually preserve me" (Psalms 40:5 (to first), 11). The lesson-sermon also includes the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Ignorant of our God-given rights, we submit to unjust decrees, and the bias of education enforces this slavery . . . God is the lawmaker, but He is not the author of barbarous codes. In infinite Life and Love there is no sickness, sin nor death, and the Scriptures declare that we live, move and have our being in the infinite God" (381: 2-4, 15).
