The Athertons to Live In New York City

Newly-wedded Mr. and Mrs. Allan Goodrich Atherton are on a honeymoon trip to Jamaica after which they will reside in New York. The bride, the former Miss Margaret Marshall Phelps, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Mallory Phelps of 740 Escobar Ave. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marian Ernest Atherton of Concord, N.H. For her wedding the bride wore an ivory peau de soie sheath gown with chapel train and her veil of Alencon lace was made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. James F. Montgomery of Dallas and Coral Gables. Mrs. Joan Phelps Burkett, sister of the bride, was honor maid and bridesmaids were Miss Elizabeth Randol and Mrs. Philip Brawner. Miss Mallory Burkett and Master Joseph Burkett, niece and nephew of the bride, were flower girl and ring bearer. George Weigers of New York was best man. Ushers were Robinson Buck of Atlanta; Peter Pastriech of New York and Philip Brawner. Mr. Buck sang the solo, "O Perfect Love." The Rev. John G. Shirley performed the ceremony in St. Philip's Episcopal Church and the reception followed at the Bath Club, Miami Beach. The couple will reside in Wappinger's Falls, N.Y. where the groom is an associate programmer for International Business Machines Corporation. He is a graduate of Yale University where he was a member of the Yale Glee Club, the "Spizzwinks" and the "Whiffenpoofs." The bride graduated from Coral Gables High School and Smith College. She spent the past year as an editorial staffer with Town and Country and Good Housekeeping magazines and locally a staff writer in the Herald's women's department.

More Plays In Summer

The University of Miami Drama Department has announced its second annual Southern Shakespeare Repertory Theatre will open this summer on July 10 with a performance of "Twelfth Night." Following this performance, in nightly rotation will be "Hamlet," The Tempest," "Julius Caesar" given six nights a week until Aug. 5. The company is tentatively scheduled to go on tour to the Orange Blossom Playhouse in Orlando, Florida, to give performances of all four plays.
