Deaths in the Gables

She is survived by her husband, Charles. H. Charles, 60, of 600 Vilabella Ave., who died Jan. 1, were held at Blue Ash (Cincinnati), Ohio. Local services were held at Philbrick's Coral Gables Chapel Wednesday night. She came to the Miami area from Cincinnati 15 years ago and lived in Coral Gables for the past eight years. Surviving are two sons, Donald Clancey of Cincinnati, and James Clancey of Coral Gables.

W. W. McGough, Was Realtor

MR. McGOUGH Funeral service was held Monday evening at Van Orsdel's Coral Gables Chapel for W. Walker McGough, 63, of 639 San Antonia Ave. He died Sunday. Interment will take place in the family plot, in Vienna, Ga. Mr. McGough had been a resident here for 38 years. He was a member of the University Baptist Church, Coral Gables Kiwanis Club, the James Cornell Lodge [?] Mahi Shrine and the Flamingo Club. Originally in the oil and tire business, Mr. McGough was a real estate broker for many years. Survivors include his wife, Lois, three brothers and three sisters.

Dies Awaiting His Sentence

A man who served as a Coral Gables policeman back in 1958 died at Jackson Memorial Hospital Dec. 26 awaiting sentence on an attempted burglary. Richard Head, 28, 11020 SW 43rd Ter., died of hemorrhage while he was being treated for ulcers. Mr. Head, a gasoline station attendant, had pleaded guilty to the June 7, 1960 attempted burglary of Howard Johnson's Restaurant, 1450 S. Dixie Hwy.

Turner Jones' Rites in Ga.

Funeral services for Turner Jones, 85, of 1119 Placetas Ave., were held in Valdosta, Ga. He died Dec. 29. He came here nine years ago from Valdosta. Surviving are his wife, Ethel; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas E. Huggins, and two grandchildren, all of Coral Gables.

Services for Mrs. Margaret H. Charles

Merrick Secy., Clara M. Moss

Services for Mrs. Clara M. Moss, secretary to George E. Merrick, founder of Coral Gables, from 1920 to 1930, were held Friday at the Church of the Little Flower. Mrs. Moss, who lived at 2413 North Greenway Dr., died Dec. 27. She came here 42 years ago from Muncie, Ind., and was the wife of the late William R. Moss, assistant business manager of The Miami Herald. Her husband's brother is assistant superintendent of the press room there. Mrs. Moss, a retired real estate broker, is survived by a son, William T.; a sister, Mrs. William Lacey; and four grandchildren, all of the Miami area.

Mrs. Powell Dies at 89

Private funeral services for Mrs. Maude L. Powell, 89, who died Saturday were held Sunday at Philbrick's Coral Gables Chapel.

Joseph Adam, Ohio Native

Services for Joseph Adam, 77, of 832 Madrid St., were held Tuesday at Reed Gautier Funeral Home. Mr. Adam, a retired carpenter who died Saturday came to this area 22 years ago from Cleveland, Ohio. He is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Adam, of Miami.

Mrs. Russell Buried in Tenn.

Services for Mrs. Pattie M. Russell, 91, of 1409 Urbino Ave., who died Sunday, were held in Williamsport, Tenn. Mrs. Russell came here 22 years ago from Williamsport. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. A. J. Carmichael, of Coral Gables, and Mrs. E. B. Jenkins of Knoxville, Tenn.; two sons, nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Maud Bacon, 67; Lived on Riviera

Services for Mrs. Maud Bacon, 67, of 3271 Riviera Dr., who died Dec. 26, were held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church Friday. Entombment followed at Woodlawn Mausoleum. Nee Maud von Baumbach, she was a cousin of H. V. Kaltenborn, the radio commentator, and a descendant of the von Baumbachs and Kaltenborns, of old Germany. She came here from Cleveland 12 years ago and was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, the Coral Gables Country Club, the Music Club and the Riviera Republican Club. Mrs. Bacon is survived by her husband, Marvin J., and a son, Robert G., of Philadelphia.
