San Amaro Drive May Cut Though to Dixie

Coral Gables wants to trade off the South Alhambra Circle rail crossing for one at San Amaro Drive. The plan is to close off the crossing at Alhambra, which is not a through street (across from University Court Motel), and open one at San Amaro. San Amaro has become heavily travelled since the University of Miami widened it, put in a divider strip and landscaped it. The street would cross the tracks and empty into South Dixie. City Manager L. W. Robinson Jr. is to work out the arrangement with the Florida East Coast Railroad.
