Southwest High Luke Crawford Elected New President SW Class
By LAURA HENRY Junior elections were kicked off Friday with campaign speeches, and Monday the elections were held with Luke Crawford capturing the office of president. Last year Duke was head of the sophomore dance committee and was active on the sophomore board, while at the same time participating in football and track. Previous to this he was president of his home room and student council representative. Sany Kitchens, who is the new vice president, received much of her experience as secretary of her freshman and sophomore classes. This year she is also assistant advertising manager of the Aquila staff, secretary of Charm Club, and Student Council representative. Mary Ellen Thorn is secretary, with previous experience as sophomore board representative, activ member of Latin National Honor Society, and student council representative. In ninth grade she received the Lion's Club Award and was head majorette. Judy Miller, treasurer, has been on the sophomore and junior board, Aquila staff, and student council representative. Judy also is a junior varsity cheer leader and was an Aquila princess. Eagles Pace Conference The Eagles football team ran true to form Saturday night, smothering the Knights of Curley 19-12 in a Gold Coast Conference game. Last week the Eagles met the Palmetto Panthers in a rivalry clash at the Coral Gables P.B.A. stadium. Why is our Waterway Dining Room so popular with Business Men? Well, for one thing, they like the excellence of fine food at moderate prices. For another, they relish the pleasant relaxation afforded by the charming surroundings. But perhaps the principal attraction for men with no time to waste is the truly extraordinary service we dispense as a regular occurrence. Hot food arrives at your table piping hot just as it came from the oven ... cold food refreshingly cool and crisp. That's the way it always is ... at the Waterway Dining Room. Try it once ... at Breakfast, Luncheon or Dinner ... you'll quickly see what we mean. THE Waterway Dining Room at University Court RESORT MOTEL Across from the University of Miami, at 1390 S.
