Kenneth Brass Is Bar Mitzvah

KENNETH BRASS Services at Temple Zion will start at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3. Rabbi Alfred Waxman will deliver the sermon, "Interpretations of the Ten Commandments." C-- Saturday at 9:30 a.m., Feb. 4, Kenneth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Brass, will be Bar Mitzvah. He is an eighth grade honor student at West Miami Junior High School. Arriving for the Bar Mitzvah from New York are Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Kushner, Mr. and Mrs. Max Friedman, grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. William Jacobs, Mr. Sidney Brass; from Portland, Me., are Mr. and Mrs. Murray Cohen and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Modes; and from Leesburg, Fla., Mr. and Mrs. Max Idelson. The Kiddush will be tendered by Kenneth's parents to which the congregation and friends are invited.

Little Flower Society To Hear Talk On Mass

Members of the Society of the Little Flower are invited to br their husbands and friends Monday at 8 p.m. to the school cafeteria of the Church of the Little Flower to hear Richard W. Denmore speak on "The Mass." Mr. Denmore, born in England, was educated by the Jesuits at Wimbleton and attended Clongowes in Ireland. He came to the United States and to Miami in 1939 and served in the United States Air Force. A world traveler, Mr. Denmore is a linguist and speaker and has conducted workshops on the Mass, the celebration of Holy Communion. At present he is secretary of the Diocesan Holy Name Society and vice president of the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine at Corpus Christi Church. He is a fourth degree Knight of Columbus.

St. Theresa Plans Festival

St. Theresa, Church of the Little Flower, will hold a "Gay Nineties Festival" on the school grounds, Thursday and Friday, Feb. 9-10, starting at 1 p.m. daily. On Thursday, 7:30 p.m., there will be a costume parade with cash prizes. Parents are welcome to enter. Friday will feature dancing and entertainment in the evening. Daily attractions will include rides. There will also be a variety of booths including a Latin-American booth which will serve special Spanish foods throughout the festival.

2-Story Apartment Planned On Edgewater

A four-unit, two-story apartment building is planned at 73 Edgewater Dr. by owner Harry Corash. A state permit has been issued and a contract for $43,000 awarded to Shafer & Miller, of South Miami. Fein and Martin are the architects for the two-bedroom, two-bath air conditioned units.
