South Dade Two South Dade men were booked into the Dade County jail after they were arrested and charged with robbing a guest at the Castaways Motel on Miami Beach Thursday, July 15 at 10:50 a.m. Arrested were Amil Settles, 24, of 11970 SW 110th Ct., and Lincoln Powell, 36, of 20300 SW 114th Ave. Police say two men, one brandishing a sawed-off show gun and the other a handgun, held up 22-year-old Gordon Keenan in his room. ★ ★ ★ The Seven-Eleven Store at 7481 SW 40th St. was robbed Saturday, July 10, at 5:35 a.m. Police said that a man came into the store and forced employe Frank Rodriquez, 59, to empty the money into a paper bag. Coral Gables Luis San Migel, 45 was arrested Wednesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. at 2801 Salzedo by Officers Webster and Scanlan for failing to appear in court. ★ ★ ★ Dale M. Benthuysen, 21, and Anthony LaMarca, 21, were arrested Sunday, July 11, at 3:16 a.m. at the Coca Cola Company, 4401 Ponce de Leon Blvd. by Officers Holmes and Glasheen for attempted breaking and entering. ★ ★ ★ Mary Reddick, 58, was arrested Monday, July 12, at 233 Grand Ave., by Officer Douglas for intoxication. ★ ★ ★ Edward Lee Hood, 28, was arrested Thursday, July 15, at 12:28 a.m. in Coral Gables for driving with a suspended license. ★ ★ ★ Mrs. Jean C. Hampton's house at 212 Caupina Ct. was broken into Friday, July 9, at 3:50 p.m. and jewelry and a man's shirt were taken. Police, who said the front window was broken with a brick, said a man in his early 20s with black hair and a mustache was seen leaving the house in an older green Volkswagen. ★ ★ ★ Pablo Roca's house at 235 Sarto was broken into Thursday, July 8, and $50 in quarters was taken. Police said the thief apparently removed jalousies from a north window. ★ ★ ★ James W. Rolmes' house at 2414 DeSoto was broken into Monday, July 12, but it is unknown if anything was taken. Police said the thief apparently forced open an east awning window on the second floor from the first floor roof. ★ ★ ★ Clinton Smith's house at 137 Florida was broken into Monday, July 12, and a television was taken. Police said the thief apparently forced open the door with brute force. ★ ★ ★ Douglas H. Conway's house at 608 San Esteban was broken into Thursday, July 15, and a camera, money and checks were stolen. Police said the thief apparently walked in through the door. Mrs. Maurie W. Meehan's house at 530 Miller Rd. was broken into Thursday, July 8, and coins were stolen. Police said the thief apparently cut the screen on the rear patio and then jimmied a window casement with a screwdriver. ★ ★ ★ John T. Vaughn's house at 6812 San Vicente was broken into Sunday, July 11, and coins, a stereo, a camera and a television were stolen. Police said the thief apparently broke a front window. ★ ★ ★ Edwin G. Bruce's house at 611 Santurce was broken into Tuesday, July 13, and jewels were taken. Police said the thief apparently pried open jalousies at the southeast corner. ★ ★ ★ William R. King's house at 7811 Altamira was broken into Tuesday or Wednesday, July 13 or 14, and a silver tea set was taken. Police said the thief apparently used a tool to open a sliding glass door at the north end of the house. ★ ★ ★ Michael Stern's house at 1333 Blue Rd. was broken into Tuesday, July 13, and silver was taken. Police said the thief apparently came through a sliding glass door. ★ ★ ★ Stuart C. Griffith's house at 1448 Alegriano was broken into Tuesday, July 13, and jewelry was taken. Police said the thief apparently pulled open a window and pushed out a screen.
