A slap and a shove Better known as lacrosse
Photos by FRANK TURSI Lacrosse is a funny game. A bunch of guys don funny hats, wield potent-looking sticks, and run around a field chasing a little white ball. They usually end up pushing and slapping each other in the process. Be that what it may, but the Florida International University lacrosse team took on Loyola of Baltimore Thursday afternoon at Tamiami campus. People who know about such things, say Baltimore's the place where old lacrosse players go to die, so it wasn't a surprise that Loyola demolished FIU 18-4. Going from top to bottom: FIU players gather for the traditional huddle before the game. A Loyola player is airborne as he takes a shot at the FIU goal. While on the bench, FIU players look on, dressed as if they were preparing for Armageddon. And finally, a group gathers to chase the elusive ball, which somehow manages to evade the players. Does anybody here know how to play this game?
