Miss Stambaugh Becomes Bride Of Coral Gables Man Sunday In St. Stephen's Episcopal Church

The former MISS MARISE CORALIE STAMBAUGH who, June 1, became the bride of George Stanley Musser, son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. O. T. Musser, 1428 San Benito Avenue. The new Mrs. Musser is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Upshaw Stambaugh of Miami. -Vincent Crudelle Photo Miss Marise Coralie Stambaugh became the bride of George Stanley Musser at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. The Rev. Rex Wilkes read the service. Walking to the altar on the arm of her father, the bride was attired in a white silk net gown made with fitted bodice, high neckline with lace ruffle outlining the yoke, and long pointed sleeves. The full skirt extended into a train. VEIL OF ILLUSION A coronet of orange blossoms held in place her long illusion veil. White roseg and stephanotis formed the bridal bouquet. Miss Mary Lou Call, as maid of honor, wore a pink taffeta bodice and net skirt of blue over pink. A pink shoulder length veil was held to a headpiece of pink roses and ribbon. Miss Mary Ann Bullock, in yellow, and Miss Maxine Waldron, Ft. Lauderdale, in green, wore organdy gowns, headpieces of pink roses and matching short veils. The attendants, all Delta Zeta sorority sisters of the bride, carried colonial bouquets of pink roses, candy tuff and delphinium. Flower girls, Marcia Houghtaling and Leisa Houghtaling, were in green and yellow gowns of organdy over taffeta. SEAT WEDDING GUESTS Best man for Mr. Musser was Wallace Smith. Frank Coury and Robert Towles served as ushers. All are fraternity brothers of the bridegroom. Nuptial music was provided by Soloist Charlotte Belle and Organist Charles McVay. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Stambaugh chose a gray crepe gown with lace drape, amethyst accessories and a corsage of pink roses and iris. Mrs. Musser was in blue taffeta and a corsage of Talisman roses. Upon their return from a honeymoon, the newlyweds will be at home at 1428 San Benito, Coral Gables. For traveling the new Mrs. Musser was attired in blue silk jersey with lace bodice and peplum and black accessories. Out-of-town guests for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Max Waldron, Ft. Lauderdale, and Mrs. Claire Peterson, Lake Wales, Fla. The bride atended the University of Miami where she pledged Delta Zeta sorority. Her husband attended Texas A. and M. and the University of Miami. His fraternity is Pi Kappa Alpha.

BETTY JONES IS PRESIDENT OF TEQUESTA

MissBETTY JONES heads the list of new junior officers of Tequesta Society, Children of the American Revolution. The annual election took place at the home of Miss Helen Giersch, retiring junior president. Betty is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Jones, 914 Madeira Avenue, and is a member of next year's senior class at Ponce de Leon high school. Elected to serve with her are the following: Carita Carballe, vice president; Margueritte Betts, recording secretary; Lenore Carrere, corresponding secretary; Mary Ann Batcheller, treasurer; Jeanne Taylor, registrar; and Barclay Powers, Jr., chaplain. Junior group members over ten years of age attended the meeting and took part in the election. They were especially interested in hearing the reports of the delegates to the National Convention held recently in Washington, D.C., as one of their own members, Sally Amerise, attended. Other delegates who gave reports were Lenore Carrero, who also served as a State Page, and Miss Alicia Amerise. Maria Alicia and Sally are the newly appointed Custodians of the Flag and will be on the Flag Day program of the Coral Gables chapter, D.A.R. Membership chairman, George S. Okell, Jr., reported plans for a membership drive during the summer months which will culminate in a dance for the 'teen agers.

Mrs. Brasher Honors Newspaper Woman

Mrs. Floyd T. Brasher, 435 Avenue Giralda entertained at a luncheon Saturday at her home honoring Mrs. Hal C. Simmons. Mrs. Simmons, who writes under the name of Paula Clark is leaving soon on a summer assignment with the Salt Lake City Tribune. Guests included a number of newspaper women: Mrs. Stuart Morrison, Miss Kathy Quinn, Miss Ardythe Conohan, Mrs. Lewis Fogie, Mrs. Kathryn Kelly, Mrs. John C. Mulin, Mrs. E. V. W. Jones, Mrs. Steve Trumbull, Mrs. Jos. Eggum, Mrs. George Kiel, Mrs. R. C. Simmon, Mrs. Al D. Hubbard, Mrs. Velle King, and Mrs. E. Homer Stone.

GABLES UNIT PLANS MEETING WEDNESDAY EVE

The Coral Gables unit American Legion Auxiliary will meet at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Legion Hall. Flag Day will be observed in a program planed by Mrs. C. E. Waldron, Americanism chairman, and Mrs. L. A. Maness, past district sergeant-at-arms. Mrs. L. S. Upchurch, parliamentarian, will speak on parliamentary law. Members are requested to bring donations for the rummage sale to be held Saturday June 21, on Main street in the Coral Gables section of the Coconut Grove colored district. Last week the Coral Gables American Legion Scholarship award for girls was presented to Miss Jean Tierney of St. Theresa's High school, by the president of the auxiliary, Mrs. F. R. Wickard. Immediate past president Mrs. R. A. Peckham presented the Auxiliary's award for the best essay in the Americanism Essay contest, to Eugene Lyon of the same school.

Plan Barbecue

Group 3 of the Woman's Assiciation of the First Presbyterian Church wil lhold a barbecue supper at 7 p.m. Monday June 9 at the home of Mrs. Helen McGill, hostess, 2611 S. W. 12th street.

Mrs. Pierce Hostess

Mrs. Maylen Newby Pierce of 1129 Avenue Palermo will be hostess for the members of group 6, of the Woman's Association of the First Presbyterian Church at 12 o'clock June 13.

Visits Uncle

Cpl. Robert Morrisette, stationed at Selma, Ala., was the week end guest of his uncle, E. Homer Stone and Mrs. Stone, 1322 Avenue Milan. Corporal Morrisette made the trip by plane.

Is Hostess for Church Group

Mrs. John W. Holland, 517 Hardee Road will be the hostess for members of Circle 5, of the Woman's Society of Christian Service, Methodist Church at the 11 a.m. monthly meeting, June 13.

To Meet June 13

Mrs. Pauline Harris og 613 Avenue San Antonio will be hostess for members of Circle 6 of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church. meeting at 10:30 a.m. Friday June 13.

Mrs. Corrigan Hostess

Mrs. George Corrigan, 1257 Mariola Court, will be hostess at 12 noon Friday June 13th for the members of Group 2 of the Woman's Association, Presbyterian Church.

Church Ceremony Last Night United Miss Clark, Mr. Andre

Miss Ella Coralova Clark became the bride of Paul Ludwig Andre in a beautiful candle light service last night at the St. James Ev. Lutheran Church. The Rev. Carleton J. Sutorius pastor performed the double ring ceremony. The chancel was decorated with palms and colorful flowers. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Ida Fry Strang sang "The Lord's Prayer" and during the service she sang "Jesus Be Our Guide" and "At Cana Lord Thou Did'st Appear." Mrs. Erma A. Betts was the accompanist. The bride given in marriage by her father wore a gown of heavy slipper satin in colonial design with full flowing skirt and train. The tight fitting bodice was topped with a yoke of heirloom Belgian lace. The long sleeves ended in points and were appliqued with the same kind of lace. Her train length veil was bordered with chantilly lace and fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and seed pearls. Her only ornament was an heirloom hand carved gold cross pendant (the gift of her paternal Grandmother). She carried a Belgian lace handkerchief and her bouquet was lilys, stephanotis and white orchids. Bride's Attendants The attendants were gowned in colorful pastel shades of organza with matching hats and gloves. Matron of honor Mrs. James Markette wore coral and carried a bouquet of Gerber daisies and rose tubes. Maid of honor, Miss Irene Robinson wore pink and carried a bouquet of Gerber Daisies. The Bridesmaids were Miss Sue Harrison, Miss Betty Paige Todd, Miss Evelyn Zotter and Miss Barbara Zotter, their bouquets were Roses and Delphinium. The Groom's attendants (With the exception of his brother Richard) who is still in High School) were all members of his Fraternity, - Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Best Man, - Edward Kruetz. Groomsmen, - Charles Ayers, William Hayes, Marry Thompsen, Harold Boudreau and Richard Andre. The brides mother wore a gown of aqua crepe and a corsage of Gardenias. The grooms mother was gowned in powder blue crepe and wore a corsage of Camellias. The bride attended Miss Harris School here and is a graduate of The Ward Belmont School for Girls at Nashville, Tenn., where she was a member of the XL Club. She also attended The University of Miami where she was a pledge of The Delta Gamma Sorority. Mr. Andre's college course was interrupted by three and one half years service with the Army Air forces during the war. He is specializing in Marine law at the University of Miami. He is also owner and operator of "The Andre Marine Service Yacht Basin. A reception for two hundred guests was held at the home of the brides parents immediately following the ceremony at the church. Indirect lighting illuminated the patio and garden where the wedding cake was cut and the guests served. Mrs. Royce Powell was in charge of the brides book. The young couple left by plane for Nassau. After a honeymoon in the Bahamas they will reside in Coral Gables.

Miss Smith Hostess At Farewell Buffet

Miss Sharon Smith entertained a group of Ponce High school boys and girls at a buffet dinner at the home of her parents, 836 Alhambra Circle Saturday evening. Guests included Sylvia Vines, Amanda Sue Higgins, Patricia Watson, Ann Pedigo, Gale Clark Nancy Enefield, Philip and George Jochem, Raymond Ehly, Fred Ingoe, Larry Kilbride, August Becker, Harry Caldwell and Ralph Dahlstrom.

HEALTH CLUB SETS DATE

Mrs. John Norman, president of the John Harvey Kellogg Health Club, announces the subject for the first program meeting of the club June 19, to be "How the body defends itself, balanced diet and art of walking". Organized recently the health club plans monthly meetings the third Thursday at 2 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. Estell G. Norman, superintendent of the Kellogg sanitarium, the health club was formed to aid members in preventing illness; through exercises and diet.

Mrs. O'Brien Arrives

Mrs. Francis P. O'Brien arrived this week from Lowell, Mass., for a visit with her parents, Judge and Mrs. Phil Paine. Mrs. O'Brien, who was a bride of last June will be matron of honor for her sister Miss Coral Paine who will become the bride of Austin Raymond Morse Jr., June 28th. Mrs. O'Brien is the former Rhoda Betty Paine. Mr. O'Brien will arrive June 22nd.

Minerva Club to Lunch

Mrs. J. L. Coppedge will hostess for the members of the Minerva Club of the S.A.E. at luncheon June 12th at her home, 2289 N.W. 2nd street. Members may make reservations by calling Mrs. A. A. Simmon, 3-2067.

Gregory-Scott Rites Revealed

Mr. and Mrs. John Paul Gregory, 3153 Ludlum Road are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Miss LaVerne Madeline Gregory and Curtis Edward Scott which took place Monday at the First Methodist Church. Dr. J. H. Daniel performed the double ring ceremony uniting the couple. Both Mr. and Mrs. Scott are graduates of Ponce de Leon High School. Mr. Scott served in the Navy for three years. Following their honeymoon trip the newlyweds will reside at 3145 Ludlum Road.

Church Group to Meet At Miami Beach

Mrs. W. G. Friedemann, 8825 group 4 of the Woman's Association, Presbyterian Church, at 12 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, will be hostess for the members of noon June 13.

In Mountain Retreat

George Donohue of Coral Gables is planning an indefinite stay in the mountains of North Carolina. At present he is a guest at the Hotel Tryon, Tryon, N. C.

Mrs. King Hostess

Group 5 of the Woman's Association of the Presbyterian Church will meet at 10 a.m. June 13 at the home of Mrs. Gilbert D. King, 1220 Avenue Obispo.
