CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY Janet Smith Weds William Walker
Janet Mason Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bristol Smith, of 666 University Dr., was married last evening (Wednesday) to William Nickerson Walker of Newton Highlands, Mass., in a candlelight service in Plymouth Congregational Church of Coconut Grove. A reception was held at the Riviera Country Club after the ceremony. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length sheath gown of ivory chantilly lace with a panel train. Her illusion veil was held by a flat white satin bow. She carried a bouquet of white stephanotis and orchids. Her maid of honor was her sister, Bess Smith. The bridesmaids were Susan Brawner of Coral Gables, Mrs. Dunbar M. Helsey and Ginger Nadell of South Miami, Lilian Riemer of San Marino, Calif., and Jane Drake and Judy Drake of Winnetka, Ill., cousins of the bride. They were gowned in aqua silk organza dresses with full skirts and carried bouquets of yellow sweetheart roses. Best man was Dunbar M. Helsey of South Miami. The ushers were Kenneth C. J. Allen of Chevy Chase, Md.; Harry L. Drake of Winnetka, Illinois, the bride's cousin; Dana K. Johnson of Newton, Massachusetts, James G. Steen of Garden City, New York; and Howard Whitmore III of Newton Highlands, Mass. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Smith wore a beige silk organza sheath with matching accessories. The bridegroom's mother chose a pale blue lace sheath with a matching pill box hat. The bride graduated from Coral Gables High School in 1957 and Smith College in 1961. The bridegroom, a 1960 cum laude graduate of Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn., was a member of Psi Upsilon Fraternity and the Mystical Seven Senior Society. He is now a student at the University of Virginia Law School in Charlottesville, Va. After a honeymoon in Nassau, the couple will live in Washington, D.C., this summer and move to Charlottesville in the fall.
Miss Ferris Weds Dr. Gordon Hahn; Bryn Mawr to Be Home
Mr. and Mrs. John M. Ferris, of 1030 South Greenway Dr., announced the marriage of their daughter, Margaret Anne, to Dr. Gordon Sheppard Hahn. The ceremony took place Saturday, June 17, at the Church of the Little Flower. The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Robbin Langely, as maid of honor. Mary Shae and Mary Frances Ferris were bridesmaids. John Ferris III was best man. The couple will honeymoon in Florida, before establishing their home in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where Doctor Hahn will serve his intership at the Bryn Mawr Hospital. The bride is a graduate of Immaculata Academy and a former student at Charity Hospital School of Nursing, New Orleans, La. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Tobias Hahn, of Rosemont, Pa. His father is a professor at Villanova University, Villanova, Pa. The groom, a graduate of Rollins College, Winter Park, was graduated at the Tulane University Medical School, New Orleans.
