'Miss Flame' Contestants Are Sought

The Coral Gables Jaycees, in cooperation with the Coral Gables Fire Department, will choose a "Miss Flame" to reign over the activities planned for the week of October 9 through 14, National Fire Prevention Week. The Jaycees and the Fire Department are planning to have a parade down Miracle Mile, Oct. 10th which will feature a 1923 fire engine that has been renovated by the Fire Department. Highlight of the "Miss Flame" reign will be the Annual Firemen's Ball which will be held at the Coral Gables Country Club Oct. 13. Winner of the contest will receive many prizes, including gift certificates and a $100 Savings Bond. The contest is open to all single girls between the ages of 17 and 28. CARILLON CONCERT

The University of Miami will begin its 10th season of carillon concerts Sunday performed by Dr. Ralph Harris, UM Carilloneur. The half-hour concerts will be performed almost every Sunday at 5 p.m. on the Deagan Carillon atop the Merrick Building.
