MRS. YOUNG

Bride Dies; Husband Will Recover

Robert J. Young, the Coral Gables man whose bride of five days was killed in an auto accident near Los Angeles Monday, is not in serious condition. The groom's father-in-law, Henry H. Lesier, 6259 SW 39th Ter., said Wednesday that Young has multiple fractures of the leg and facial cuts. Young, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. Young, 1217 N. Greenway Dr., and Sue Ellen Lesier were married Wednesday of last week in Coral Gables First Presbyterian Church. The bride was killed in a head-on collision in California while she and her husband were being driven by a friend to their new home in Santa Maria. Young's mother will remain in the West for awhile. His father will return home this week.

Mrs. Terrill's Rites on Friday

Requiem mass and burial for Mrs. Dorthy E. Terrill, 39, of 1029 Milan Ave., who died Sunday are to be in Columbus, Ohio, tomorrow (Friday). Rosary services for Mrs. Terrill were held locally at the G. D. Peden Funeral Home. Mrs. Terrill had been a resident for 10 years, coming here from Columbus. She had been employed by Southern Bell Telephone Co. Mrs. Terrill was a member of the Rosary Society at the Church of the Little Flower. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Terrill; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Evans, Mrs. Grace Hankinson and Mrs. Martha J. Stanczak, and two brothers, Fred B. and William P., all of the Miami area.

Mrs. Rasco's Mother, Was 84

Services and burial were to be held today (Thursday) for Mrs. Amanda Knox Tanner, 84, of 2203 Alhambra Cir., who died Tuesday. The service was to be held at 11 a.m. at the Van Orsdel Chapel followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Tanner, the mother of Mrs. Russell A. Rasco, wife of the dean emeritus of the University of Miami Law School, came here 18 years ago from Modesta, Calif. Other survivors include three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Leach, Was Here 42 Years

Services for Mrs. Jennie Leach, 92, 630 Velarde Ave., who died Sunday, were held Monday evening at Van Orsdel's Coral Gables Mortuary followed by cremation. Mrs. Leach came here 42 years ago from Louisville, Ky. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Agnes Lamper, of Coral Gables, and two sons, Cecil and Hugh, and a grand-daughter, all of Miami.

Price, 64, Was With Gas Oil

Joseph E. Price Sr., 64, was buried at Flagler Memorial Park Monday following services at First Presbyterian Church of Coral Gables. Mr. Price, a former vice president of Gas Oil Products, died Saturday. He lived at 444 Malaga Ave. Mr. Price came here from Tampa 27 years ago and had been a member of the Downtown Lions Club for 25 years. He was also past president of the Florida Liquified Gas Association. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of Coral Gables; a daughter, Mrs. William C. Davis Jr., and a son, Joseph E. Price, both of the Miami area.

Jordan Rites At Arlington Today

Mrs. Margaret A. Jordan, 52, of 115 Sidonia Ave., was to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery today (Thursday) following services. She died Monday. She came here eight years ago from Maryland. Survivors include her husband, William H.; a daughter, Margaret Ann, and her mother, Mrs. Gertrude Brown, all of Coral Gables.

Max Morrison, A Photographer

Max Morrison, 57, of 1201 Tangier Dr., was buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery Friday following services at Riverside Memorial Chapel. He died Thursday of last week. Mr. Morrison, a photographer, came here 20 years ago from Havana, Cuba. He is survived by a sister, Eva Morrison, of Coral Gables.

Dr. Coleman To Be Feted By Baptists

Sept. 17 begins the sixth year of the ministry of Dr. T. Rupert Coleman with the University Baptist Church. During these past five years the church has seen the dream of a new $350,000 educational building and chapel become a reality, with over 1,100 new members being added to the church by letter or baptism. Under Dr. Coleman, the church has also acquired a full-time minister of education and minister of music and a minister of youth. To show their appreciation, the church is planning a high-attendance day Sunday, with an "old fashioned" basket dinner on the ground following the 11 a.m. worship service, to honor Dr. Coleman.

GOLF LESSONS

Registration for golf lessons for women is being taken at Coral Gables Youth Center. Classes will be conducted Mondays and Fridays at the Granada Golf Course at 9 a.m. with a fee of $10 for six lessons.

RECORD ATTENDANCE

More than a thousand people attended each of the three Rosh Hashanah services at Temple Judea during the current High Holy Days, marking a record for the synagogue, according to officials.
