Capt. H. B. Wharton, USA (Ret.), 533 Majorca Ave., has entered Mercy Hospital for the removal of cataract from his left eye. H. B. Wharton, his son, station manager for Eastern Air Lines at Melbourne, has arrived to visit his mother, who recently underwent the same operation. ★ ★ ★ U.S. Army 2nd Lieut. John H. Schulte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund R. Schulte of 1259 Asturia Ave., has been assigned to the 32nd Signal Battalion in Germany. The 23-year-old lieutenant is a 1956 graduate of St. Leo's prep school (near Tampa), and a 1960 graduate of Spring Hill College, Mobile, Ala. He entered the Army last November. ★ ★ ★ Open to the public will be the "Great moments in Charm and the Dance" to be presented Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Phillis Kapp's studio, 247 Malaga and at 2:30 p.m. at her South Miami studio. ★ ★ ★ Christmas novelties will be discussed Monday, when the Home and School Association at St. Theresa's meets at 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria, according to Mrs. Francisco Montana, chairman. ★ ★ ★ Remember Rosemary Lee — the girl who swam through college by working summers for the YWCA? Well, her sister, Libby, is doing the same thing now. Libby and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon Lee, 225 Alesio Ave., left Saturday to drive Libby up to Maryville College, in Maryville, Tenn. A 1961 graduate of Coral Gables High School, Libby earned enough money for her first term in college by working as an instructor for the Y this summer and by part-time ushering at the Coconut Grove Playhouse. She intends to continue this through college, and plans to major in drama. ★ ★ ★ Dale Van Scriver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Van Scriver, 1031 Hardee Rd., graduate of Bradford Junior College, will attend Hollins College, Roanoke, Va. Dr. Lindsay D. Pankey, Dr. James W. Cosper Jr., Dr. Richard Souviron and Dr. Charles G. Holt, all from Coral Gables, attended a post grad course for dentists held last Friday and Saturday at the J. Hillis Miller Health Center, University of Florida campus. ★ ★ ★ JAMES WINSTON, will be leaving Monday for his sophomore year at Duke University. Jimmy is the eldest of the four children of Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Winston, 3601 Toledo St., and the first to leave for a college in the North. He is majoring in electrical engineering.

Lyda Ter-Haar Marries Allen Wayne Carroll
MRS. ALLEN CARROLL Lyda Ter-Haar Marries Allen Wayne Carroll Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Erickson, of 2107 Alhambra Cir., are announcing the marriage of their grand-daughter, Martha Lyda Ter-Haar, to Allen Wayne Carroll, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Carroll of 6461 SW 29th St. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. J. F. Bergan of Cutler Ridge, and William Ter-Haar Jr., of Miami. Given in marriage by her paternal grandfather, William Ter-Haar, the bride wore a handsome bridal gown of French lace and Peau de soie, which she made herself. Her silk illusion veil was caught to the head with a crown of seed pearls and she carried white orchids and sweetheart roses on her confirmation Bible. Delores Marie Hagan was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Beverly Forman, Susan Eschleman, and Helen Threatte all of Coral Gables and Miami. Glenda Patterson and Linda Patterson were flower girls. The attendants wore peau de soie gowns of wood violet designed with fitted bodice round neck line and draped skirt, matching headpieces and they carried lavendar and purple Pom Poms. The flower girls wore lavendar organdy frocks over orchid cotton satin and carried baskets of mixed flowers. Raymond E. Carroll, brother of the groom was best man, and ushers were Mike de Quiseo, Gary Kidwell and Bill Frey, all of Miami, Larry Scott was ring bearer. The Rev. Murray T. McCullough pastor at the West Flagler Park Baptist Church officiated at the 7:30 p.m. double ring ceremony and the reception took place at the home of bride's aunt, Beverly Forman, 3633 Stewart Ave., Coconut Grove. The mother of the bride wore a beige silk linen with marquisise sleeves and seed pearl trim. Mother of the groom wore a pink linen with satin trim, matching accessories. Both matrons wore orchids. The bride carried the lace handkerchief belonging to the groom's aunt, Mrs. W. Q. Bost, of Birmingham, and carried by her at her wedding 35 years ago who with Mr. Bost attended the wedding. The bride's Bible was also the gift of the Young Women's Auxiliary of the church to which she belonged. Incidentally the bride learned to sew during her doll craze age and received her first sewing machine when she was seven years old. She attended Coral Gables High School and was graduated from Southwest High School. The groom was graduated from Coral Gables High School and the Palm Beach Jr. College. He is presently a junior at the University of Tampa. After a wedding trip to Daytona Beach, the couple will reside at 15071⁄2 George Ave., Tampa.
Blind Bogey At Riviera
It was a blind bogey tournament at Riviera Country Club on Guest Day Tuesday. Closest to the winning 39 wer Mrs. Franklin Tomlinson, Mrs. Howard Plasman and Mrs. John Hoehl, tied with 40. Five members tied at 39. They were Mrs. E. Sheldon Woodward, Mrs. William Redelsheimer, Mrs. John Grentner, Mrs. Thomas Cook and Mrs. J. H. Early.
