'ROUND TOWN

june gray woman's editor People read things in the newspaper which are not printed. In the Oct. 25 edition of The Times, the private wedding of Margaret and Oscar "Chris" Christianson, 422 Catalonia, was announced. Last week the mother of Edward "Chris" Christianson Jr., came to the office quite disturbed. Several of her friends had called and asked why she had not told them Chris was married and they wanted to know who Margaret was. A couple of Chris' friends met him at a bar and came up and offered to buy him a drink after congratulating him on being married. The family asked their friends why they thought Chris was married and they replied they had read it in The Times. Since the family could not recall the article, Mrs. Christianson came in to see the article and when she read it she exclaimed, "My friends cannot even read." She added she was glad it was not 22-year-old Chris because she did not want him to get married yet. This Christianson family lives at 601 San Lorenzo. * * * Mrs. Ruth Foreman had her share of trouble last week when the woman had been cast as Mother Helen in "A Taste of Honey" gave notice that she would be unable to take the part, 24 hours before the opening Saturday night. "But I refused to let this stop me, I was booked solid for Saturday and Sunday night and I did not have time to contact all the people who made reservations. I felt a responsibility to my audience, so I did the next best thing and narrated the mother role from off-stage," said the determined owner and director of Studio M Playhouse. She has invited everyone attended the Saturday and Sunday night performances to see the play again as her guests when it re-opens again tomorrow (Friday) night. It will play nightly except Monday through Dec. 8. To be on the safe side, Mrs. Foreman has cast two moms now. One is Clara Bethel, who was with the Havanna-English Speaking Theatre before Castro. The other is Beverly Wheeler, an English actress and air line stewardess. Ruth thinks Beverly's job is accident prone, and if something should happen, she does not want to be left without a mother again.

TOP WINNERS in the Triple Trophy Golf Tournament at Riviera Country Club are, from left, Mrs. William Linkroum; Mrs. Ernie Sabayrac and Mrs. Albert Anderson.
