Coral Gables Society Will Gather At Country Club For Presentations
MICHELLE DANDURAND CAROL DONAVAN BARBARA EVANS DIANE FRINK This is the second in a series of pictures and sketches of the 25 girls who will make their debut in local society on April 7. The occasion will be the third annual Presentation Ball sponsored by the Coral Gables Woman's Club. It will be held at the Coral Gables Country Club. Michelle Marie Dandurand is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard V. Dandurand of 6601 SW 82nd Ave., South Miami, and is native born and educated. She attended St. Theresa's School, Coral Gables, St. Michael's School, Miami and Immaculata Academy. Michelle was chief justice of the student body, member of the Student Council, vice president, National Honor Society, and a member of the Drama Club. Her hobbies are dancing, piano playing, swimming and cooking. She is vice president of the Theta Club and a member of the American Red Cross and the Country Club of Coral Gables. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Armond LaRocque and also of Leon Baron, all of Kankakee, Ill. Her father is a calculator, Mutuel Department, for the Hollywood Kennel Club and the Biscayne Kennel Club, Miami. Mr. and Mrs. Dandurand are members of the Country Club of Coral Gables. Carol Jean Donavan is the daughter of Mrs. G. Lamont Donavan, 731 Jeronimo Dr., and Walter H. Donavan Jr., of Mobile, Ala. She was born in Miami and has lived in Coral Gables 12 years. Carol completed her elementary schooling at Coral Gables Elementary and Ponce de Leon Junior High Schools. She is a senior at Coral Gables High, a member of Junior Classical League, Allied Youth, Concert Chorus, Modern Music Master. She won second prize in the 1959 high school essay contest of the Advertising Club of Greater Miami. Carol's hobbies are horseback riding, swimming and music. She is a Volunteer in the Junior Red Cross and is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Coral Gables and of the Country Club of Coral Gables. Her mother is a member of the Country Club of Coral Gables, Women's Auxiliary of Lafayette College, Minerva Club of Coral Gables and a past member of the Pilot Club of Coral Gables. Barbara Elizabeth Evans is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Franklin J. Evans, 4305 Toledo St. She was born in Pittsburg, Calif., and was reared in Coral Gables. Barbara completed her elementary schooling at Corpus Christi and St. Theresa's and Coral Gables Elementary Schools. She was graduated from Ponce de Leon Junior High and the Academy of the Assumption, Miami. At school she was secretary of the Student Council. In the 11th grade she won second award for studies. She was a member of the Yearbook staff, 11th and 12th grades and member of Assumption Mission Association and Intermural Athletic Activities. Her hobbies are photography, sewing and sports. Barbara is a junior member of the Country Club of Coral Gables and of the Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club, where she is social chairman of the Senior Teens. She is also a member of the Junior Vizcayans, and of the Junior Catholic Youth Organization of the Little Flower Parish. Her father is a physician and both Dr. and Mrs. Evans are members of the Country Club of Coral Gables and of the Kings Bay Yacht and Country Club. Mrs. Evans is a member of the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Diane Evelyn Frink is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert A. Frink, 607 Villa Bella Ave. She was born at Jackson Memorial Hospital and lived on Miami Beach until moving to Coral Gables with her parents three years ago. Diane attended Central Beach Elementary, Miami Beach Junior High and Coral Gables Senior High Schools. She was cheerleader for two years at junior high and also secretary of the Freshman Class and a member of Brush and Palette. At Coral Gables High, she was a section editor of the Yearbook, Dean's Assistant and member of Big Sister, Quill and Scroll and Allied Youth. Diane's hobbies are tennis, bowling, horseback riding and during the summer square dancing at the Frink summer home atop Sugarloaf Mountain in North Carolina. Her father is a former mayor of Miami Beach. He is owner of the Vann Cleaners and Laundry Inc., of Miami Beach; a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Miami Beach and holds memberships in the Mahi Shrine, 32nd degree Mason and the Elks Club. Her mother is chairman of a committee to establish a Miami Beach Garden Center and Conservatory; member of the Coral Gables Woman's Club and the Miami Beach Woman's Club; Tropical Garden Club and of the Eastern Star Chapter 145.
