Martha Ter-Haar Marries Allen Wayne Carroll

MRS. ALLEN CARROLL Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Erickson, of 2107 Alhambra Cir., are announcing the marriage of their grand-daughter, Martha Lyda Ter-Haar, to Allen Wayne Carroll, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Carroll of 6461 SW 29th St. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. J. F. Bergan of Cutler Ridge, and William Ter-Haar Jr., of Miami. Given in marriage by her paternal grandfather, William Ter-Haar, the bride wore a handsome bridal gown of French lace and Peau de soie, which she made herself. Her silk illusion veil was caught to the head with a crown of seed pearls and she carried white orchids and sweetheart roses on her confirmation Bible. Delores Marie Hagan was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Beverly Forman, Susan Eschleman, and Helen Threatte all of Coral Gables and Miami. Glenda Patterson and Linda Patterson were flower girls. The attendants wore peau de soie gowns of wood violet designed with fitted bodice round neck line and draped skirt, matching headpieces and they carried lavendar and purple Pom Poms. The flower girls wore lavendar organdy frocks over orchid cotton satin and carried baskets of mixed flowers. Raymond E. Carroll, brother of the groom was best man, and ushers were Mike de Quiseo, Gary Kidwell and Bill Frey, all of Miami. Larry Scott was ring bearer. The Rev. Murray T. McCullough pastor at the West Flagler Park Baptist Church officiated at the 7:30 p.m. double ring ceremony and the reception took place at the home of bridesmaid, Beverly Forman, 3635 Stewart Ave., Coconut Grove. The mother of the bride wore a beige silk linen with marquisse sleeves and seed pearl trim. Mother of the groom wore a pink linen with satin trim, matching accessories. Both matrons wore orchids. The bride carried the lace handkerchief belonging to the groom's aunt, Mrs. W. Q. Bost, of Birmingham, and carried by her at her wedding 35 years ago who with Mr. Bost attended the wedding. The bride's Bible was also the gift of the Young Womens Auxiliary of the church to which she belonged. Incidentally the bride learned to sew during her doll craze age and received her first sewing machine when she was seven years old. She attended Coral Gables High School and was graduated from Southwest High School. The groom was graduated from Coral Gables High School and the Palm Beach Jr. College. He is presently a junior at the University of Tampa. After a wedding trip to Daytona Beach, the couple will reside at 15071⁄2 George Ave., Tampa.
