Church Plans Halt as Pastor Exits

Building plans for South Miami Baptist Church are being held up, Frank Irwin of the building committee said Monday. Church officials had indicate earlier that the new $600,000 church would not be held up by the resignation of Rev. Max Morris. The church expansion is being delayed until officials re-appraise the problems caused by the unexpected resignation of the pastor. "We need to get our feet on the ground," Irwin said. Irwin indicated that the new edifice might await the selection of a new pastor. Plans might go ahead before that time if the selection takes too long, Irwin indicated. Rev. Morris' resignation takes effect March 25.
