Our Gals Place, But Other Lass Wins
Two of the three top winners in the "Miss Dade County" beauty and talent pageant at Westbrooke Country Club last weekend are from Southwest Miami. But the top title went to 18-year-old Elizabeth Jevnaas, a Norwegian-born blonde from Northeast Miami. She was crowned before 1,200 persons in the Grand Ballroom at Westbrooke. First runner-up was Sue Davis, 6745 SW 26th Ter., a Dade County Junior College freshman, who won the title of "Miss Westbrooke." Second runner-up was Joan Andes, of 3797 SW 91st Ave. Miss Andes is also a junior college freshman. The beauty-talent pageant, sponsored by the West Miami Jaycees, is expected to be an annual event. The contest winner will represent Dade County in the Miss Florida Citrus Queen contest at Winter Haven, while Miss Davis will be entered in the "Miss Azalea" contest in Palatka.
