The Morgans are hosts to "Terry" a young Ecuadorian miss who is a member of SW's Operation Amigo program. Although Terry speaks "just a leetle" English she has managed to express her like for Miami and basketball. The fifth birthday of the First Baptist Church of Westwood Lake was celebrated Feb. 25 with a very "special" Anniversary cake. The cake, as in previous years, weighed over 200 lbs. (No, it was not quite all edible!) The "monstrosity" was presented during the evening services while a smaller version of the cake was given to each Sunday School department. Also on the agenda was the showing of films of the church while it was under construction. A little different gospel was presented March 4 at Rev. Marvin M. Gechenours' First Baptist Chruch, Rev. Ken Thornton a migrant mission worker and chalk artist relayed the Gospel message through chalk last Sunday evening. It was $40,000 well spent, parishioners of Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4101 SW 107th Ave., feel about the cost of the new educational wing which will be ready for use in a few weeks. The "campus style" addition includes a church nursery kindergarten and primary departments, and a large conference room. Under the guidance of the pastor, Rev. Archie Davis, 4240 SW 107th Ave., Trinity Church has expanded from a mere 60 to 300 parishioners. Teachers, prospective teachers, and just interested others attended the "Literature Clinic" a Kendall Methodist Church, 7600 SW 104th St. which was held last Feb. 23. Miss Caroline Gabriel, literature representative from the Methodist Publishing House, held the clinic. It provided an excellent opportunity for the many attending to discuss with someone the philosophy, aims, purposes, motivations and uses of the Methodist literature. The South Dade chapter of Barry College Alumni held a "smash" card party last Friday at 7:30 p.m. The party was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Center, University of Miami, 1400 Miller Dr.
