Five Coral Gables students made the Dean's List at Georgia Tech during the fall quarter. Students who compiled grade point averages of 3.0 or better are Jose I. Gonzalez, son of Luis Gonzalez, 5703 Maynada St.; James E. Thompson, son of J.C. Thompson, 1420 Robbia Ave.; D.W. Matson III, son of D.W. Matson Jr., 2214 Granada; Lon N. Pringle, son of Dr. J.C. Pringle, 733 Catalonia Ave.; and Kathy L. Vereen, daughter of Nancy Vereen, 95 Morningside Dr.
New assignment
Army Pvt. Arthur L. Abraham, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Abraham, 6404 SW 57th Ave., was recently assigned as a vehicle mechanic in Headquarters Company, first Armored Division Support Command in Furth, Germany. Abraham entered the Army in July 1976.
Dean's List
Dr. John M. Palms, dean of Emory College in Atlanta announced that five Coral Gables students were named to the Dean's List for the fall quarter. Among those having superior academic achievement from this area are Steven Lee Dayan, 66 Valencia Ave.; Wayne Dubin, 630 Tibidabo Ave.; Marja Flipse, 6608 Granada Blvd.; Gary H. Slatko, 444 Rovino Ave.; and Philip C. Smith, 4515 San Amaro Dr.
Insurance seminar
Juan L. Flores, an associate of New England Mutual Life Insurance Co., was one of 41 executives from the company's 118 agencies throughout the country to attend a five-day course for general agents, managers and supervisors held in Boston. Flores, who joined the company in March 1976, resides at 1262 Dickinson Dr., with his wife, Ana Maria, and their daughter.
