Let woman's club sew you the way
Sew what if the Coral Gables Woman's Club is meeting Monday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m.? Well, that is the date of their annual Sew-A-Rama, where members will model clothes they have designed and made in four classifications: daytime, evening, casual and "fun things". Categories will stress originality in materials and style. Professional judges will select the winning costumes in each category. These will be entered in the Dade County Federation of Women's Clubs annual sewing contest Feb. 25. Women interested in attending the club showing Monday may call Mrs. Stover, 666-6814 for information. Home sewn fashions will be modeled by the members who made them and judged in four separate categories, Patio and Cruise Wear, All Occasion, The Tailored Look and After Five. The winners will compete in the District 11 sewing contest later in the year. The proceeds from this show will go to the charities which the South Miami Woman's Club supports. For tickets, at $5 each, please call Betty Russo, 253-0245.
