Moth Eaten Moose Hits New High; Ends Up on Top of Grove Windmill
By JOYCE EDWARDS Without passion is a true description of The Moth Eaten Moose. He has been the honored guest at a birthday party, been dressed up like an Easter basket, has sat in the fireplaces of his illustrious hosts, been shipped by Railway Express, and has even ridden in a station wagon. His life has been crammed full of things extraordinaire for a moose, but he fails to be daunted by it all. He goes along visiting, scaring, and still staring, glassy-eyed. He truly must be without passion! When he appeared all decked out in Easter aray at the Gaines Wilsons, they lost no time in sending him on a visit to Peyton Wilson, the brother of Gaines. This is a fate that could only be compared to sending on your in-laws when it comes to brothers. Blocked Doorway I asked Mr. Wilson what happened when he found The Moose. It seems that he was found blocking the doorway. His stance on the doorstep was so wide, that Wilson couldn't get in his own home, and as he said, "The thing that happened then was bad language!" Eager to get rid of The Moose before the curse should fall upon the Wilson household, the animal soon paid a visit to the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Russell D. Grove, and Dr. and Mrs. Milton Bird. Offered Station Wagon Dr. Preston H. Watters offered the use of his station wagon so that The Moose could ride in the style which only a truly blue blood, peeling nose moose could be used to. A few days later Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Bliss returned from a cruise and found the happy smiling face waiting to greet them from their fireplace at their home on South Bayshore Drive. This time The Moose had definitely made progress. None of this being left on the front porch or outside under a tree. The old boy just worked his way into the house, and indeed to the warmest spot he could think of. Rumor has it that he was headed for the bed in the master bedroom, but he was at last made to realize that he does have a physical handicap. Maybe it even put a slight cramp into his conceit. Anyhow, his antlers were too big and he couldn't quite work his way through the door frame. Horseplay Reversed The Bliss household apparently became the meeting place of a few people who put together their creative minds and conjured up a little idea which would prove to Dr. Watters that his little trek in the station wagon was not quite long enough for him to be with The Moose. They felt that it should travel a little closer to him so that the whole family could enjoy its presence. He did! In fact he traveled so close that they couldn't possibly miss his presence, but then neither could the neighbors. Through a little applied science and the use of a ball and tackle rigged up especially for the occasion, The Moose made the most elevating trip of his career. It was truly to heighten his position in life. That is, to the tune of fifteen feet in the air when they hoisted him to the top of the Watter's windmill. The windmill swishing around in front of the poor fellow probably sent The Moose on a terrific merry-go-round, undoubtedly causing even the saw dust in his weary old head to around and around. He was painstakingly removed from the windmill to sit on the ground and wonder, "What can they do to me now??????"

Impromptu Race Staged by Cars
Hinleah and Gulf Stream may be closed, but the racing season is still on. Gables police found that out when a call was made this week by Mrs. Gordon Walters, 501 Hardee Road, that five automobiles, four of them recent models, and one of them a jaloppy, were engaging in a five-lane race along Hardee Road. Police, who checked the neighborhood for signs of the racers, were unable to locate any of them. The handicap had been too great. Bell Telephone couldn't match the racers for speed.
