Rainbow Girls Plan All-Day Bazaar Tomorrow
New Gables Group Is Sponsored By Eastern Stars and Masons The Coral Gables Order of Rainbow Girls sponsored by the Gables chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and Masons, will sponsor its first all-day bazaar Saturday. Their bazaar will consist of homemade fudge, cakes, cookies and rolls and they have been given space in the Coral Gables Bakery department (now closed) in Tanner & Tanner's grocery. This junior group of girls organized just this year number over 50. Under the direction of Mrs. Grace Thomas, mother-advisor, the Rainbow girls have their own officers and will hold an initiation next month. Officers include Nina Scarbrough, worthy advisor; Cecelia Chalmers, worthy associate advisor; sister of Charity, Helen Mae Thompson, sister of Hope, Marcia Tarbert and sister Faith, Lemac Roberts. Miss Tarbert is chairman of the bazaar.
Four generations on the maternal side are portrayed in this picture of infant Kathryn Louise Lanigan, her mother, Mrs. T. Roddy Lanigan, Jr., her grandfather Denis Renuart and her great-grandfather Adhemar Renuart. The picture was made on the day of the baptism of Kathryn Louise, July 19, at the Church of the Little Flower with the christening party for the two families held immediately afterwards at Mr. and Mrs. Lanigan's home. Infant Kathryn wears a handsome hand made christening robe of fine cotton and lace with matching cape and bonnet made in Montreal, Canada, the gift of her maternal grandmother. —Vincent Crudele photo.
K. S. REYNOLDS WEDS MRS. ROSEBERRY AT RITES HELD IN FT. LAUDERDALE
Of interest to a large group of their Coral Gables friends is the announcement of the marriage of Anita Rebozo Roseberry and Kenneth Stanley Reynolds which took place at 3 p.m. Saturday at Fort Lauderdale. The Rev. Bruce Giffen performed the double ring ceremony at the Methodist parsonage. For her wedding Mrs. Reynolds wore an aqua-blue street length dress. Her accessories were honeycolored including python shoes and bag and milan straw hat with aqua veiling. A yellow orchid corsage with fuschia center completed her costume. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Barker of Miami, brother-in-law and sister of the bride were the attendants. Mrs. Barker wore a flamingo crepe dress with white accessories and white gardenia and roses corsage. Following the marriage a cocktail party for the members of the bridal party took place after which the couple left on the 7:30 o'clock plane for Havana, Cuba. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding and party included the bride's mother Mrs. F. M. Rebozo, sister Mrs. Howard Bouterse and brother Mr. F. E. Chambers all of Coral Gables and Miami. The former Mrs. Roseberry, widow of Harry E. Roseberry, has been a Coral Gables resident for the past ten years and a former Miamian. Mr. Reynolds, a native California, came to Coral Gables five years ago from Brooklyn, N. Y.
Visits Relatives
Mrs. F. F. Glomb and her husband stationed with the government at Aniston, Ala., have completed a visit with their son and family, Lieut.-Col. F. F. Glomb, Jr., who is stationed at Andrews Field, Washington, D. C. Mrs. Glomb Sr., will visit her niece Mrs. J. H. J. Pearce, nee Elelyn Warwick, and Mr. Pearce at Clearfield, Pa., before returning to Coral Gables. She is accompanied by her daughter, Miss Rosemary Glomb, president of the Spinters Club.
Marion Hasty, Percy Pitts Are Married
Coming as a complete surprise to their many friends was the marriage of Miss Frances Marion Hasty and Percy McGraw Pitts Jr., which occured July 12th and is being announced today by the bride's parents, Dr. and Mrs. F. E. Hasty of 1208 Avenue Asturia. The wedding took place in a simple home ceremony at the home of the bridegroom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Reynolds in Clanton, Alabama. The bride wore a white waffle pique street length dress with lace inserts, white flower hat and corsage of white carnations, her Chi Omega sorority flower. The Rev. A. W. Miller of the Methodist Church performed the ceremony. The bride attended the University of Miami where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Mr. Pitts is the son of Mrs. Percy McGraw Pitts of Clanton and the late Mr. Pitts. His father was a prominent lawyer in Alabama and served in the state legislature. The junior Mr. Pitts also is following the same profession as his father and is a senior law student at the University of Miami. At the University he is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and was the University chapter's first president.
