Joining the colony of Puerto Ricans residing in the area, is Mrs. Monserrata Ortiz who has bought the home at 2720 Country Club Prado. Mrs. Ortiz who also lived in New York City has two children, Jimmy and daughter Grace Carola. Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Howell are among newcomers from Delaware and are residing at 914 Avenue Malaga which they recently bought. Mr. Howell is a builder with the United Construction Co., and the family are Methodists. * * * Member of and executive director of the Regional Planning Board, S. D. Currier and Mrs. Currier have leased the home at 241 Avenue Romano during their Florida stay. From Hackensack, N. J., the Curriers are of the Methodist faith. Also from New Jersey are Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Heendan who have leased the home at 919 Lisbon street. Mr. Heendan is with the American Air Motor Co. * * * Two families who formerly called Cleveland, Ohio, home, are Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Laidman of 23 Avenue Alcantarra and Mrs. Clarence J. Cunningham of 44 Almeria Concourse. The Laidmans have one daughter, Thelma. Mrs. Cunningham has a son, Clarence, Jr., and two daughters, Lillian and Muriel. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Randall have recently bought the house at 1226 Alberca Street for their home and have a baby son, William, 13 months old, and a daughter, Kathryn, three. From San Antonio, Tex., the Randalls are of Baptist faith. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Russell P. Richardson and infant daughter, Meredith Ann just seven weeks old are in their own new home at 5832 S. W. 50th terrace. From St. Louis, Mo., Mr. Richardson is attending the University of Miami * * * Also newcomers from St. Paul, Minn., are Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McDonald of 5876 S. W. 50th terrace who are in their own home. The McDonalds also have a baby daughter Charlene seven months old. Mr. McDonald is with the local telephone company. * * * Joining the growing list of Miamians, buying homes in Coral Gables are Mr. and Mrs. Gerry Kramer who now have the home at 5746 S. W. 29th street. Formerly of New Jersey, the Kramers have a daughter nine years old Lee Ann. Mr. Kramer is a buyer for the men's furnishing department of Burdines. The family are of Baptist faith. Joining the colony of Miamians buying in the Gables are Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Hootman of 1134 Avenue Obispo. Mr. Hootman is a member of the Pan American World Airways company. * * * From Pittsburgh, Pa., are Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Konopinski who have bought the property at 2618 N. Greenway Drive for their home. Mrs. Konopinski is retired and the couple have as their house guests their son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter Marion 16 months old.

At the regular July meeting of the Coral Gables Soroptimist Club, all of the 29 Charter Members signed the Charter which was presented to the Club at their installation meeting, June 18, by the regional director, Mrs. T. V. Moore. Miss Easter Russell, president of the Club, named her committee chairman for the year: program, Herberta Leonardy; publicity, Rose Horn; service, Myrtle Gruelle; Ways and means, Suzanne O'Conner; assimilation, Effie England; attendance Frances Roozen; budget, Lila Lehman; classification, Susan Archer; extension, Lucile Neher; legislation, Ruth Clouse; membership, Celia Snow; social, Sue Jenkins; venture, Juliet Petrecca; historian, Johanna Pilkington; parliamentarian, Herberta Leonardy; custodian of Flag, Anne Blowers.
Styles in Tango To Be Shown Sunday
Something new in Style shows will be "Fiesta in the Moonlight" at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Floridian Hotel. Sponsored by the Jewish Fraternal groups, the show will include fashions in tango. The models from the Eleanor Lane school will present fashions in groups. The fiesta will be held in the gardens of the hotel and tickets may be had at the door.
Visits Three Sisters
Mrs. John Brain, (Rubie Jackson Pierce), of 517 Drummond Ave., Red Bank, N. J. and enjoying a reunion with her three sisters, two of whom are at the Taft Hotel in New York City, and one near by in New York state. Mrs. Brain plans to go on to Atlantic City and later to Philadelphia to take organ lessons. She is scheduled to appear before the Swarthmore Woman's Club in Swarthmore, Pa. on a musical program late in the summer.
