GABLE Hub (GABLEGRAMS)

(Continued from Page Seven) Kerdyke will go on to Sagamore Lake where she will be a guest at the Sagamore Hotel until September. She will return with her son Bill who has been working in Sagamore this summer. * * * First of the post nuptial parties for Mrs. Percy McGraw Pitts, Jr., nee Marion Hasty, was the linen shower given last night by Mrs. Frank C. Oldham, Jr., Mrs. Oldham was the former Betty Jo Tynan and a Chi Omega sister of Mrs. Pitts. An all-white bridal theme was used for decorations and the flowers were white carnations, the Chi Omega flower. Mrs. Oldham was assisted by her mother, Mrs. Boyd Taylor. * * * Colonel and Mrs. John Doyle Carmody are leaving Wednesday for a trip North. They will stop en route in Williamsburg, Virginia, and Atlantic City, N. J., before going to Long Island to visit Mrs. Carmody's mother. Later they will visit their daughter-in-law, Mrs. Robert Carmody at East Bridgewater, Mass. (Commander Robert Carmody is at sea in the South Pacific) and will also visit their son and daughter-in-law, Captain and Mrs. John I. Carmody of Melrose, Mass., joining the later at their Cape Cod place. The senior Carmodys will return via York Harbor, Maine and the White Mountains, N. H., Saratoga Springs, N. Y., Drexel Hills, Pa., reaching home the last of October. * * * We paid a visit to the new Petit Paris (French Pastry shop) out on Ponce de Leon Boulevard and were roundly rewarded with real delicious creampuffs; the first we have seen since long before the war. A real creampuff is filled with whipped cream. Petit Paris has them. Fresh every day, and what is more the shop is not only air-conditioned but all of their pastries are kept in refrigerator shelves. * * * Post cards from Mrs. S. Ernest Philpitt from Mount Gretna, Pa., and from Mrs. Francis Graham from Kenora, Ontario, Mrs. Philpitt is sleeping under blankets by night - the lucky one - and having daily visits with the Dr. Ralph Engles. Mrs. Philpitt's next-door neighbor there, has lived in her cottage 54 years - a record. Mrs. Graham is 136 miles east of Winnipeg, camping at their old camping place, they had not visited in 16 years. Everything seems the same, she writes, except the town "Kenora" is bigger and busier.
