Introducing the Soroptimists Frances Rosendale Chose Gables And New Career After Marriage

When she married, a rightabout face in choice of careers faced Frances Rosendale, sixth personality in the Riviera-Times series of business women, charter members of the Coral Gables Soroptimist Club. Educated as a medical technician, the profession she followed for seven years in New York City, she dashed when she returned to her beloved Florida as the wife of Robert G. Rosendale, biliophile. However, Frances' new career was not to be entirely buying and selling books. Born in Montana of career parents, Frances Thill came to Florida as a youngster in 1923 with her parents, both civil engineers. Mr. and Mrs. Thill set up offices in Miami Shores and beautiful Biscayne Boulevard, one of the boom time wonders of Miami, is monument to their skill. Frances attended Riverside Grade School, Miami Edison High school and was graduated from Florida State College for Women, Tallahassee. Followed her education as medical technician-and work in New York. Then marriage. After her husband returned from serving the armed forces overseas he joined his wife who had preceded him to Florida. They decided to locate in Coral Gables and it became both the home and business interest to the couple. The Rosendales purchased the Rainbow Knit Shop, 2319 Salzedo Street, immediately adding books and a circulating library. Determined to learn the intricacies of knitting which she had formerly followed only as a hobby, Frances dug in diligently mastering new stitches, patterns and everything that patrons demand in the knitting line. "Knitting and selling books is a far cry from the serious study of medicine," Mrs. Rosendale told your reviewer, "but I love it and feel it's my real job now." The Rosendales reside at 1132 Avenue Castile. They have two young sons, Dicky, four, and Thomas, two. Aviation is their hobby and they indulge in a ride in the skys whenever time permits. MRS.
