Charles T. Holdcraft, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Holdcraft, 1521 Catalonia Ave., and graduate of Coral Gables High, is a freshman at the Georgia State College of Business Administration, Atlanta. * * * Dr. Norman A. Alley, 216 Catalonia Ave., will attend the American Dental Association's 102nd annual session, Oct. 16-19 in Philadelphia. Dr. Alley will address a clinic on speech aid for the cleft palate patient. * * * Mrs. John H. Worley, 9230 SW 45th Ter., will wear two crowns this 1961-62 club year. She is the president of the Coral Gables Woman's Club and vice president of the Esther Munson Parliamentary Law Club. * * * Miss Nancy Tkach who serves three local dentists as their dental hygienist is leaving Oct. 14 to attend a dental convention in Philadelphia. And on the 19th, she will fly to London for a five-country tour of Europe. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Tkach of 245 Alcazar Ave. * * * Richard L. Krefetz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Krefetz, 4735 Orduna Dr., a freshman cadet at The Citadel, Charleston, S.C., was among 665 new cadet recruits making their bow in a military review Friday. * * * John A. McKenna, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. McKenna, 2205 Country Club Prado, and a June graduate of Coral Gables High School is a freshman at Dartmouth College. McKenna is one of 809 new classmates at his father's alma mater. * * * Mrs. John H. Worley, president of the Coral Gables Woman's Club, visited her granddaughters, Robyn, three, and Marcia, one year old. They are the daughters of Helen Worley Mitchel, and her husband of Orlando. * * * Sam I. Silver, 707 Malaga Ave., is chairman of the Cedars of Lebanon Hospital benefit dinner scheduled for Nov. 29, place to be announced. Judge Silver is a past president of the University of Miami Law School alumni association. * * * Tax Assessor Tommy Blount, his wife, Pat, and 19-year-old son, Richard, recently spent several days inhaling cool mountain air near Waynesville, N.C., where they rented a cabin while Tommy was on vacation from his City Hall duties. The Blounts are back home in Coral Gables, but Richard began his freshman year at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. * * * Helen G. Pennock, 6775 Hardee Rd., member of local country club women's golf associations, and a whiz at the game, had to give up golf. Why? Bifocals, she laments. * * * Mrs. Lewis Clephane has recently moved to her new one-story modern home at 5301 Granada Blvd. She says she is directly across from the UM campus. * * * Susan Taylor became a "Big Sister" in charge of welcoming freshmen during new student week at Elmira College, New York. Susan, the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Taylor Walters, 3270 Riviera Dr., began her junior year. * * * It was a "crazy-hat" creation informal luncheon yesterday (Wednesday) at the home of Mrs. A. A. Dick, 616 Jeronimo Dr., when 12 friends of Maurie (Mrs. William J) Meehan, 530 Miller Rd., honored their friend, who with her husband is moving to Jacksonville. * * * A 25-minute film on rheumatic fever and congenital heart disease is available to local groups through contact with the National Children's Cardiac Hospital, 4250 W. Flagler St. The film in black and white.
